  1. When do you belong to the best drivers? I don’t think Perez belongs to the 20 best drivers in the world either. And if he didn’t had Carlos Slim’s backing, his F1 career would have been over after that beating he got from JB in 2013.

Over the years I have seen numerous drivers that did very well in the junior series and even won it, but didn’t end up in F1 as they didn’t had the funds that Perez did have.

I agree F1 does not have the 20 best drivers in the world. But for Perez to make that claim is odd. As he is has been part of the problem for years. He is a good pay driver. But still a pay driver.

And to be honest about his win today. Without the Mercs, without Max, and without a reasonably competitive teammate, he was obliged to win this race, even from P18. We are talking about the fastest car behind the W11 at this circuit: the W10. In fact, I think Max would have done a lot better this year if he had driven that car instead of the RBR.

I hope Sergio does go to RBR and shows Max he is one of the best drivers in F1. Surprise me.
