Ferrari seem to have rediscovered their speed on the streets of Monte Carlo, while Red Bull have given no indication they’ll give up their grip on the Monaco Grand Prix.
Mercedes may well have been holding back their speed somewhat in first practice, by not doing a soft run but the longest car on the grid didn’t seem able to match Ferrari in second practice, either.
Despite Charles Leclerc missing first practice with a gearbox issue, he and Carlos Sainz Jnr were the first cars to break a 1’12 lap and seemed to be flying during second practice. Sergio Perez, meanwhile, beat Max Verstappen in the morning session for the best time.

Great, I’ve always wanted to be the Valtteri to Lewis. Shame it doesn’t come with a big paycheck and a nice car.

Mercedes 1 & 2 after the 3rd safety car. Everyone else at least one lap down. Except Ocon who randomly gets a podium.
