It’s a very narrow fight for the fastest time at Paul Ricard so far. Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton led first practice, with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez following them.
Verstappen was able to narrowly best Bottas in second practice, however, putting in a time just eight thousandths of a second faster than the Mercedes driver. Further down the grid, both Alpine drivers have looked extremely fast at the team’s home Grand Prix while Ferrari’s suspected lack of pace is largely confirmed, away from street tracks.

Here is my prediction: The Grand Prix will be an uninspiring and sleep inducing race around a stripey ashfelt carpark which has destroyed a once beautiful track and quite of lot of the environment around it.
