  1. An unideal outcome for Hamilton’s WDC chance, but anything can happen.

  2. This is good thus far, Verstappen just needs to get that to 26 as much as possible then he can relax a bit and have the cushion to settle for 2nd place when he can

    1. You’re back?

  3. I predict Ham will have a PU let go in one of the next races, He does not have much else so will plead they’ll turn it up. He’s now against the (proven to be) class of the field, more intelligent driver who thinks for himself and has a better donkey and wheels.

    1. They are both intelligent drivers Andy, hate to break it to you. They are both fantastic drivers. They have pretty much equal cars. This is a rare season.

    2. I am sure they are already running their engine on higher mods. But both drivers are great drivers for sure.

  4. Important win for Verstappen. Mexico should suit the RB even better and Mercedes might have to watch out for Ferrari there, because the red cars are very good on tracks that ask for maximum downforce.
Neither Verstappen nor Hamilton can afford to slip up in one of the remaining races.

Behind the championship fight, there’s another close fight between McLaren and Ferrari. McLaren will have to maximize their potential in everyone of the remaining races to come out on top, because Ferrari now have the quicker package due to their ERS upgrade.

With 5 races (or 6 if you count sprint qualifying) to go there is a pretty unusual situation.

Only 3 drivers are left that can become WDC as Perez is 137.5 points behind with maximum 133 points available.
Yet still 4 teams can become WCC as there are 225 points available thus Ferrari (210 behind) or McLaren (206.5 behind) can still mathematically win the championship.

Without the Sprint qualifying in Brazil it would have been feasible that Max & Lewis would have finished dead even on points if Max & Lewis take the top 2 spots on remaining races with Max winning Mexico & Brazil, Hamilton winning the other 3 and have 5 fastest laps, in that scenario Max would be WDC due to more wins (10 to 8).

Lewis is unable to match his unwanted record of most wins without being WDC, Max would in theory still be able to match or break that unwanted record.
