Ferrari’s new F1-75 has run on track for the first time ahead of the 2022 F1 season at the team’s test track in Fiorano.
Charles Leclerc was first to get behind the wheel of the team’s new car as it begins preparations for the new season. Carlos Sainz Jnr also drove the F1-75 later.
Ferrari launched its new F1 car yesterday. Pre-season testing is due to begin at the Circuit de Catalunya next week.

They’re there – it’s just a still image from the twitter video and you can see them once the car goes past.

The shade of red on the car, the black trousers on the mechanics – this feels so 90’s Ferrari, I love it!

Agreed. A bit reminiscent of the ‘90s. Late ‘80s to early ‘90s were the golden era of chassis looks, glamour and money without being overly corporate, an extra special energy on and off the grid. However, it was not the golden age of on track racing however. Ironically, circa 2004 through 2012 were my favorite years in that regard.

I really like the sound of those cars at such low revs. They sound powerful and menacing. It just falls flat at higher rpm.

What is the purpose of the flares over the front tires? Obviously it’s aero, and I know they’re mandatory, but I’m curious if anyone knows what the intended effect is.

To help control the wake coming off the front tyres and direct it away from the rear wing.

They are a part of the aim with these regulations to limit “dirty air”. So they help to clean up and direct the turbulent airflow coming off the front tires.

From this picture it seems to me as if the nose is much less pointy than the launch pictures showed and that it’s merely the paint job that makes it look pointy.
Also: did Leclerc fall asleep behind the wheel?

The front wing seems quite flat compared to say the merc.

It is a modular front wing, they may use several wing caps through out the year

Will one Ferrari have yellow wheel fairings and the other one black? That would be another nice echo of the 80s, when Berger had yellow flashes on his wings. But it may just be easier to have WHITE NUMBERS THAT WE CAN SEE…

God I wish we could have black numbers on a white background back again…
