Enjoyed that. I still don’t like sprint weekends as much as normal weekends but that was an entertaining little race.

First time in a LONG time I don’t think I saw the Mercedes on the TV after the start – literally not once.

@joeypropane Once briefly towards the end, but weird.

@joeypropane Excluding the consequences of first lap incidents, Mercedes/Hamilton were battling it out with the Mercedes-powered backmarker teams, Williams and Aston Martin. Dire.

Yeah, it was nice.
They spent most of their time stuck in a DRS train though, so no surprise.

Wrong grid order for the race.

@jerejj Always great to have an OPINION. Also great to see the goat beaten by his teammate again

It’s a shame. I was looking forward to seeing what Alonso could have done on the alternate strategy from 5th. 9th is somewhat less promising.

This was ridiculously short. Not sure what we’ve been watching. Why are we doing this again?

The cynical answer is that F1/Liberty wanted some thing to attract another sponsor.
Other than that, it makes little sense.

Well-timed and executed pass by Verstappen.
The whole sprit race thing remains uninspiring, though. It isn’t really anything more than a mild reshuffle of out of position drivers, with little risk taken.

Apparently, either they reverse the grid so the Sprints can work, or they wont at all.
The little action we had today was due to cars “out of place” due to the rain on Friday.

That’s pretty much how modern F1 works all the time.

Have you not read the rules? Max Verstappen has of course *not* taken pole by winning the sprint race, he merely won the right to start with all 19 cars behindert him, after winning pole yesterday

@mrboerns I have read the rules and article 41.4 (a) states pole position for the grand prix goes to whoever was first in the sprint race.
