  1. Sainz was underwhelming. Nice for him to win, but the fact is Leclerc was all over him with a damaged front wing. Ferrari don’t deserve to win a thing really, certainly not the WCC. Leclerc drove his backside off for 4th, all because of Ferrari’s incompetence in almost every respect.

    1. The endplates nowadays aren’t doing much for speed, it’s not the first time this year we saw a car with that damage running with hardly any time loss from it @apostle.

      I do agree that for maximum result they should have swapped the Ferraris faster, but on the other hand, Leclerc was not driving away from Sainz for the following 8 laps either, so there wasn’t that big a speed advantage at all, despite Charles complaints. And let’s be honest, it did not change much to the result in the end, since they would have still done the same at the SC, which is where Sainz got back into play.

      1. Leclerc was about 4s ahead of Sainz when the Safety Car came in. How come he wasn’t driving away ?

    2. Agree. Without the safety car I think Hamilton chases them both down while they dithered about letting leclerc through. And even with it, but for Pérez and Hamilton delaying each other so much, either of them could have won instead.

    3. The win was nice for SAIl, but he was only the 3rd (4th if one counts PER effort) best driver today.
      Lost the first start, lost the lead on error after second start, if Ferrari kept LEC behind, HAM would pass them both.
      Either SAI shows something else after July, or Ferrari has only one champoinship contender.
      Plus, if Audi/Volks is rellay planning to come to F1, they should start to talk with LEC today – he might be open to talk.

      1. It’s not obvious hamilton would pass them both, don’t forget the DRS train effect.

  2. Good to see the nr 2 drivers on the podium (-;

    1. True, 2 of them are undisputable number 2s and so far hamilton didn’t do a better job than russell, this race is an exception ofc, where russell perhaps could’ve got back to the pits if he had tried all he could and got some more points.
