Very impressive drives from Max and Lewis, easily class of the field.

Meanwhile down at Ferrari they must be running out of feet to shoot themselves in.

  2. I’ll say one thing about Ferrari, they are consistent.

Great race by RB and Verstappen, even a driver error couldn’t slow them enough for Ferrari strategists.
Good drive by both Mercedes, glad to see them back in the mix.

    1. No driver error clutch issue. They fixed it during the race losing some performance.

      1. C.Horner just confirmed it was only Max and the wind. Like his mistake in spain.

      2. Max can admit a mistake when he makes it. And he did admit. Bit still won it with an amazing drive

      1. No it was not a clutch issue, it’s ok for a driver to make a mistake. I watched this live and Verstappen himself said he was adjusting some settings to avoid burning the clutch and this took his focus so he spun.

    2. Max just did a doughnut to spice things up and as a ‘thank you’ for Ferrari for the WDC.

  3. AWS graphics produce better strategies than Ferrrari at this point

Ferrari blunder in 6 laps says AWS Ted Kravitz is down at Alpine what have you got for us Ted?

  4. Ferrari should probably setup a suicide hotline for their fans by this point..

  5. BREAKING NEWS.

Charles Leclerc begs Aston Martin for the spare seat.

    1. Nulla Pax with his crazy life on edge again 😅

  6. I didn’t quite see a Max win coming, so impressive, especially after the 360.
Ferrari messed up their strategies (again).

    1. I thought for sure Russell had lucked himself off the podium, eg Redbull Ferrai Ferrari, but then the Ferraris conspired to place him back there.

  7. What’s Italian for “There’s a village missing their idiot?”

It’s just impressive that Ferrari are somehow this bad without it being on purpose. Rival teams couldn’t come up with more sabotaging strategies if they tried and they drained the hope out of me.

Team needs another purge. Start with the pit wall, lock Binotto in the factory and get someone that knows how a calculator works.

  8. Mercedes pit team was able to finally do sub 3 second stops, kudos to them.
Ferrari just confounds me. In Boston we say that the (Red) “SOX are ruining our summa!” Ferrari is definitely destroying the 2022 F1 season as they somehow find new and interesting ways to not only lose races but not even compete in races with a rocket of a car.

    1. … and they’ll still threaten to take their toys and leave if they don’t get a bigger slice of the pie.

    2. That is the sad part. Regulations improved the racing. With Mercedes returning to the contention the championship could remain uncertain until October or later.. With Ferrari blunders, not only some races fall into VER lap and the championship could be over after BEL-NED-ITA GPs.
And by “championship over” VER having more than 100 points advantage, An 80pts agvantage with 9 races ramaining, VER can be champion with P# finishes only, and this if LEC win all the remaining races.

    3. Sorry, but where did you see that rocket of a car this race??

    4. Jim: ““Ferrari (is) ruinin’ r summa!” ” LMFA, great!

I’ve stopped hoping for a close title fight and am just enjoying the Ferrari comedy show now. Makes GP weekends much more enjoyable.

    1. It must be said: it’s more entertaining than most of recent years. When Merc ran away with the title we only had a frustrated Seb or sour Red Bull politics to look at.

    2. Ferrari are the new Lattifi

  10. Dutch TV: Ferrari do actually have an excellent stategist. Pity for them his name is Carlos Sainz.

  11. Ferrari Ferrari… Genuinely inept really, what else can you say? I’m becoming more and more embarrassed to be a fan.

Whoever designs the car, keep, but the strategists need wholesale replaced.

    1. The biggest mistake for me was them getting rid of the medium tyres on the first stint without using the advantage of them. May as well have just started on the softs if they wanted to try a undercut on Russell.

Mercedes Hamilton strategy was outstanding and that’s what Ferrari could have done.

      1. Mercedes Hamilton, was better without needing to be outstanding. He still pitted with a lot left in the tires just to cover Verstappen, who as we saw, he never really stood a chance of catching.

        1. The Red Bull was simply faster but there was a chance with a VSC or SC timed better that Hamilton could have had a run at them. Ultimately Hamiltons fate to finish behind Verstappen was due to not getting past Norris for so long.

          1. Hamilton was overly cautious I think behind Norris. But probably he didn’t realize he was fighting for a win at that point. He didn’t really roll up his sleeves until verstappen turned up behind him.

I believe that Mattia is secretly an employee of either RedBull or Merc not quite sure yet maybe he’s a double agent. Its just sickening to watch Ferrari at work a real Italian tragedy or comedy depending on your viewpoint. They’ve managed to destroy their whole season through nonsensical strategies and poor reliability. Leclerc is the new Alonso. A great driver that can beat everybody but his own dimwit team.

    1. Ferrari: stradegy or disastregry?

  13. Lol the podium drivers in the cooldown room mocking leclerc on hards on the screen

    1. Loved how Lewis was baffled with Leclerc running the hards.

  14. Great race from Lewis. Usual strategy flaws by Ferrari. Surprising strategy mistake of Alpine. And even starting position 10 and the clumsy 360 mistake of Verstappen not hindering him to win, mainly due to superior car performance of RBR (although Perez shows how bad things can run, but RBR also concentrates all their power just on their #1 driver).

All together a surprisingly entertaining Hungarian GP. Unfortunately we didnt get a wet final, that would have been the cherry on the cake.

Leclerc has now said he told Ferrari he wanted to go longer on the medium to get softs at the end but the pit wall said no.

After all of the “it was Leclerc’s mistake” stuff last week from Ferrari, will they man up and admit they screwed up this time? Or will they try and pretend it was the “correct decision” like when they screwed up last time?

    1. Is this a trick question? Of course they will say it was right. Even after telling leclerc “it’s a long race” after verstappen blew by him like he was chained to a post. Just like in France. They lack the capacity for introspection.

Just heard Binotto – a bunch of excuses about the car not performing well etc…. He’s happy to blame the drivers and say “not our fault” but he’s incapable of admitting any fault himself!

        Horner’s interview was funny.
“Are Ferrari handing you the title?”
“Ummm… well.. err… are we live?”

  16. At this rate Ferrari seriously risks losing 2nd place in the constructors to Mercedes. Has arguably the fastest car on the grid ever finished 3rd in the constructors championship?

    1. yes Mclaren in 2012

True but there was a lot of bad luck in that season. A lot less of it was self-imposed.

        1. That was also Hamilton and Massa crashing into each other every other week.

          1. that was 2011. 2012 was pitstops errors and hamilton’s car failing 4 times whilst leading

    2. There’s only 30 points in it, so if that’s a bet i’d take it. Remember their flexi floor advantage isn’t even on for the remainder of this championship.

The only quesition now is whether Mercedes are currently also capitalising on that advantage whilst it last.
