They need to ditch these new pace car procedures for next year as it’s taking far too long to get back to green.
The old system wasn’t always ideal and people did end up losing out more frequently but it was still miles better than this.
In racing when treated as a sport rather than a show sometimes you lose out by a safety car, red flag or whatever and everyone just needs to accept that rather than trying to spice it up with contrived regulations and processes to try and artificially maintain the illusion of a close fight.
It’s as bad as the nascar stage system that splits the race into segments with caution periods at the end of each one to ensure the pack stays bunched up ‘for the show’.
