Indeed, but we’ll hear little about that and more about him daring to repass Sainz who had about 100 feet of space to the right of him but still decided to give absolutely zero room and then tried to wipe out FA and Leclerc in the next corner.

90% of people disagree with you on that. Some agree he should have received an in-penalty race (about 30%) had he continued, but not a single person thinks a penalty should have been applied forward. It’s a good thing you and Johnny Hebert are in the stewards office this week.

Bottas, but especially Hulkenberg deserve huge props too. Nico was less than a tenth from behind ahead of Sainz and .063 from being ahead of Russell. The Hulk is driving better than many of F1’s most raved about drivers, including Piastri, Hamilton, Russell and Perez.

mclaren looking good, and hamiltons race engineer cant disapear fast enough. so many bad engineering calls on that side of the garage, desperation being its halmark. if you cant stand on principle you will get destroyed, which is what merc’s execution on hamilton’s side of the garage looks like. fomo is not a way to run a car/driver, but bono cant say no apparently.

Mercedes’ biggest issue is that their simulations still are not correlating. So, they must do all their setup work on track. It’s why sprint weekends can be such a disaster for them.

their simulations don’t work because there are not enough honest engineers willing to point the fingers at themselves back at base. IMO. This is an issue stemming from so much ‘success’ that it has bred in too much corruption and probably nepotism. But, that can be fixed through leadership and accountability.
Russell has two advantages, he has the impetus from management to succeed Hamilton so that the brands/sponsorship will keep coming in, and apparently Lewis is making these last minute changes that are blowing up in his face. Not that he really cares, but it’s bad habit irrespective, even if the results are uninteresting or inviting of spite.
FOMO is a gateway in to the abyss, just ask Lando, its not working for him either. The emotion works best when it rides an honest racing line, but not when its suckering or inviting deception.
