Alpine junior driver Abbi Pulling took a dominant victory in race two in Miami to secure her third straight win in the F1 Academy series.

Pulling increased her own championship lead by leading every lap of race two and complete a clean sweep of the weekend.

McLaren’s Bianca Bustamante secured her first podium of the year in second after holding off Mercedes junior Doriane Pin over the 13-lap race.

After holding her lead at the start, Pulling pulled out a modest lead and never looked under threat from Bustamante to take her third win from the opening four races of the championship. Pin spent the first seven laps behind the McLaren junior driver until getting within a second of her by lap eight, but she could not pressure Bustamante into a mistake and was forced to settle for third.

Haas-supported driver Chloe Chambers finished four seconds from Pin in fourth with Ferrari academy driver Maya Weug in fifth. Hamda Al Qubaisi finished in sixth with Nerea Marti in seventh and Amna Al Qubaisi in eighth.

Carrie Schreiner finished in ninth with Emily de Heus rising from the back row of the grid to claim the final point in tenth.

For the second consecutive race, Tina Hausmann was unable to complete the opening lap after she suffered a right-rear puncture following contact from Lola Lovinfosse at the first corner. Lovinfosse received a 10-second penalty for the turn one clash, then was hit with a second following a later collision with Aurelia Nobels at the hairpin, which both drivers managed to recover from.

Pulling’s 26-point haul increases her championship lead to 29 after the second round of the series. F1 Academy’s next round will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya in support of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of June.

  1. Was a decent race, although commentary continues to not be great (What even is a “De Hauschj”? There’s only 16 drivers, just learn the correct pronunciation of their names lol), it’s still somewhat amateur, but when talking about Formula 4 level, it’s not any better or worse than that (there’s a reason most of those don’t get big television spotlights). Some good fighting up and down the grid, even if Pulling was doing a Verstappen all weekend. Bustamente, stall at the start yesterday aside, had a great showing this week, so I’m hoping we’ll get a bit of a three way battle between Pin, her and Pulling going forward.
