  1. That was a very nice race. Lots of pressure and a great battle until the end.
    Nice!

  2. Who had the fastest lap, though? It’s one of the results of the race.

    1. Russell

    2. Mercedes sacrificed Russell 6th place to claim FLAP for the team gifting Lewis 6th place.
Fully understandable from team perspective but gives an unfair reflection of driver performance.

      1. It was odd but it was Russell complaining about tires. He could have chosen not to pit. But Hamilton was closing him down rapidly. He basically chose to give up the spot and act like he was done wrong instead of getting passed on track. Even after Hamilton spotted him 4 seconds by going off at aqua minerale.

      2. Russell was in danger to get overtaken by Hamilton, and maybe also Perez. Seems like his tires were done.

  3. This track should never host a F1 race again.

    1. Blame FIA for shortening the activation zone by 100 meters for the sake of shortening.

        You want more DRS???

    2. I can enjoy a track not as wide as a Houston freeway with elevation change and close scenery to appreciate the speed and performance of the cars.

  4. Checo finishing 2nd in the WDC is far from guaranteed.

    1. Checo finishing the season in redbull neither.

    2. Perez will not be 2nd in the driver championship – Mclaren/Ferrari are about on par with Red Bull or like this weekend McLaren showed be ahead of Red Bull.
With the advantage gone Perez will be continuous behind McLaren/Ferrari and sometimes even Mercedes.

      1. Mclaren was not ahead of Red Bull this race dude, c’mon now. lol

While everything was clicking Max had a gap of over 7 secs over Norris. Then had tyre trouble because they had to change their setup after a bad friday and could not practice their long runs, it happens sometimes. It for sure will not happen every race though.

      2. @f1statsfan That’ll most likely indeed be the case over the remaining season.

      3. RBR and Max didnt get the setup right initially, but the car was easily enough to pull away 1.x seconds in lap 1. Ferrari was not close to RBR in terms of car performance, McL was close due to better tire management of Norris in the 2nd stint.

  5. It was a bit disappointing to see Piastri drop away from Leclerc in the second half of the race. I heard the commentators speculating on whether he used a bit of his tyres in his first few laps post the pit-stop and he was blazing fast in that short period. I see merit in this argument but i believe this isn’t the first time that Oscar has lost out on a position or two due to his tyre management over a race. Also, i strongly believe that even if he had started alongside Max in P2, he would have ended up P4 due to this very issue.
    An impressive drive nevertheless…
