  1. I see the format has changed & that a time zone convert option has been added, which I don’t mind, although I prefer the 24-hour format to the 12-hour one.
A good thing about sprint being the earlier Saturday session is that it’ll occur in the evening rather than early night hours like both qualifying sessions.

    1. I second this we live in Europe not in the States where people can’t read an clock ….

      1. @jerejj @macleod I totally agree: there are 24 hours in a day, let’s have the times reported that way

      2. The new format and converter are very useful for anyone who doesn’t have to just add an hour or two – no need for the comment about Americans (I’m not one) but here in Australia we have multiple time zones and our clocks change at different dates to the UK and Europe (and in the different direction as our summer is during your winter) – so I don’t have to look up whether these are on GMT or BST then add 9, 10, or 11 hours. I don’t understand the strong views on 24-hour time, unless those commenters are ex-military? Thank you Keith & the RF team – the new format is very much appreciated.

  2. Once again, the main broadcast on Sunday in the USA is not ESPN 3, but over the air on ABC.

  3. Ugh, I forgot how late the highlights are for races in the far West. I guess I’ll be watching this on Monday then!

Any reason why channel 4’s coverage not included?

    1. It’s still there it’s just underneath the table now.

      1. No problem with you separating the coverage, but could this be a table too? It would be much easier to read.

  5. The time zone conversion is a great addition (newish anyway), thanks!

A 21:00 start for the race (here in Western Europe) is great.

    1. Don’t you mean Central Europe for the most part, i.e., UTC+2 for the time being.

      1. More GMT +1 I think not sure what UTC is ….

        1. UTC is the successor to GMT as a standard time.

The UK and Ireland are on GMT in winter, which is the same as UTC for all practical purposes. So it’s often labelled as UTC+0 while British Summer Time, or BST, would be UTC+1.

        2. @macleod UTC is the agreed abbreviation for Coordinated Universal Time (Temps Universel Coordonné in French). It is the reference for all other time zones, including Daylight Saving Time, and is based on International Atomic Time (TAI).
GMT (UTC+0) has therefore become the name for standard time for the UK, Ireland and Portugal, with the Daylight Saving Team for the UK being named British Summer Time (other localities may vary), and is UTC+1.

      2. Hah! There turns out to be a “Western European” timezone indeed. Never heard the timezone for Ireland and Portugal referred to as such. I was thinking more western as in; France, Germany, the Netherlands.

        1. France, Germany and Netherlands is Western, but CET.
