  1. I didn’t watch this quali full because I was distracted, saw the time, knew it would be ongoing and decided to give it a look anyway, since the most important part comes later, I opened a stream, 2 mins to the end of q2, guess what I noticed? Perez out in q1, how’s that possible? Usually he always makes q3!

    1. Obviously meant as a joke, even though he made a few q3 lately.

      1. Same here. Got ill-informed on the starting time and missed q1. What the hell happened? I’m talking about Piastri, of course.

        1. Looks like he had a lap time deleted.

          1. The lap he got deleted was only good enough for 15th place at the moment he crossed the line anyway. It wouldn’t be enough.

He had 3 laps to put it in the top 15 and failed. A truly embarrassing performance from him today.

          2. Evaldo – true, but his going off track also lost him a few tenths, so almost certainly would have been fast enough without that mistake.

          3. Ah, right, that’s indeed a bad performance for piastri too, what I was hinting at though is that piastri occasionally has them, perez has them routinely.

My reply to you was tongue in cheek too) hinting at exactly the same thought you’re having. Just wooshed over some heads, apparently being too subtle.

  2. Is it ok to criticize Piastri already? He isn’t looking much better than Perez these last 8 days.

Given Red Bull’s return to form and Ferrari seemingly being the fastest car, we all can agree Norris’s title challenge is over. It will be interesting to see who can manage to finish 3rd on the WCC. Probably Red Bull, as they won’t fire Perez this late in the season.

    1. Oddly, Piastri’s slump in form has coincided with Marko claiming that Mark Webber has (or had) been seeking talks about Piastri moving to Red Bull.

      1. Well, RBR will need a driver who cannot consistently match his teammate if Pérez decides to retire, so on that basis, Piastri fits the criteria perfectly

        1. And he should still be an upgrade on perez, which red bull can definitely do with, there’s no danger of a driver being better than perez and suddenly matching verstappen.

Piastri has been awful in the last 2 races after looking like a world beater. Perez needs to go. Tsunoda reverts to bottling under pressure again. Surprised sainz got pole but it’s probably the worst one to get. Wonder if Norris has learnt from USA. Get on the inside and take out all the cars on the left. Hopefully Verstappen.

  4. The grid is like Noahs ark, but Sergio must have arrived late to the gang plank
