Laughing hard at Perez getting 14% of the vote (as of the time of this comment)…

Kevin Magnussen did about outstanding job in qualifying and the race. Little coverage of him but to me the driver of the weekend.

He was in a different league. Even for his doing he was really off again. After a 20sec penalty Max was still in front of him and Perez failed again to get the fastest lap at their last minute attempt since he was running last anyway. This guy is utterly useless. He should retire yesterday. It is a disgrace to the sport that he is around.

Perez had substantial floor damage, no wonder his pace was off.

Matthijs, how did he get his substantial floor damage? If it was damaged in transit, or because a drain cover shredded it as he drove over it, I’d say that is a mitigating circumstance. However, if he damaged it himself by driving over kerbs too aggressively, that isn’t down to bad luck, and I wouldn’t say that excuses a poor performance all weekend.

Remembering – as sometimes I do not – that it is DOTW not DOTD – Carlos seems the obvious and easy choice.
Sure, others drove well. Yes, the Ferrari was probably the faster machine this weekend on balance. But there wasn’t much more you could ask for from CSJ (apart from a little less whining, but who doesn’t do that when it suits).
On a separate note, someone’s finger seemed to slip and accidentally selected Perez. I’m sure Racefans will fix that up for you, whomever that may be.

I would consider Norris as DotW as well.
And Kmag did the same as Sainz if ignoring the Ferrari car advantage.

Lando was third after Qualify so DotWeekend is Sainz (Kevin and Nico were great too)

SAI is definitely the only fitting choice for both DOTW & DOTD.

I’ve given it to KMag for the 2nd time this season. But this time it was for far more than just entertainment value. Well done Kevin.

Undoubtedly Carlos. I won’t hold him losing the lead at T1 against him. It’s almost an inevitability here. Pole and got the job done. Honourable mention to Kevin. Can’t help but feel he really outperformed that Haas. I’m surprised Oscar couldn’t catch him.

#44 for moving to Fezza when the reds are in full swing, and managing to displace a driver who is unconmmeasurably better

Sainz looks a good shout but then so does Magnussen – both couldn’t really have done any better this weekend. Yes Sainz lost the lead but that was more that he was out dragged than anything else. Think I’ll go kMag though, very good quali and race, with a very strong P7

Carlos Sainz, possibly the most impressive weekend of the season and also of his career.

It has to be Sainz, and the signs are it won’t be his last win this season.
