The Brazilian Grand Prix is one of the most popular events among drivers. Not just for the fast, flowing turns of the Interlagos circuit but because of the colourful and passionate fan culture.

It’s no surprise, therefore, to see some drivers showing their appreciation for Brazilian fans and their national culture with their helmet designs this weekend.

Naturally, there’s one particular driver eager to celebrate a race that means a lot to them. But there are other drivers throughout the field who will be sporting unique looks in Sao Paulo.

Lewis Hamilton’s Brazilian Grand Prix helmet

The Brazilian Grand Prix is officially a second home race for Lewis Hamilton. The seven times world champion developed a deep appreciation and love for Brazilian culture due to his idolising Ayrton Senna and the Brazilian parliament honoured him with a citizenship in 2022.

Hamilton is celebrating all things Brazil with this special all-green helmet for this weekend. He is expected to wear it when he drives Senna’s 1990 championship-winning McLaren after qualifying.

Oscar Piastri’s Brazilian Grand Prix helmet

Oscar Piastri, McLaren, Interlagos, 2024

Another green design just for this weekend, although darker than Hamilton’s, Oscar Piastri will race with this design that is less celebratory of Brazilian culture and more a celebration of McLaren sponsors Android.

Featuring several Android mascots that are supposed to represent aspects of Piastri’s life, personality and interests, there certainly won’t be another like it on the grid this weekend.

Esteban Ocon’s Brazilian Grand Prix helmet

Ocon also has an appreciation for South America’s largest nation. Known for its colourful culture, Ocon’s design has a suitably carnival feel to it with the yellows and blues of the Brazilian national soccer team.

The design also features samba drums and trumpets to reflect how important music is to the national identity. But will Ocon’s performance in the grand prix on Sunday make him want to dance in celebration?

Valtteri Bottas’s Brazilian Grand Prix helmet

Valtteri Bottas, Sauber, Interlagos, 2024

Bottas is continuing to celebrate virtually every grand prix on the calendar with another unique design for Brazil.

More specifically, Bottas is showing his appreciation for the element of Brazilian culture that means most to him – coffee. Once again designed by his partner, cyclist Tiffany Cromwell, this design is in the colour of a cup of coffee and features a pack of coffee beans at the top.

  1. Ocon’s is my outright favorite.

    1. Reminds me a bit of Massa’s helmet

    2. Yeah agreed… Even though it’s really busy it all comes together beautifully.

  2. Oscar’s helmet is in another league. The color balance is far better than the rest.
