In the round-up: Max Verstappen says he can see the appeal of Franco Colapinto to teams considering making a move for him.
In brief
Colapinto “very attractive” to teams – Verstappen
Amid speculation and rumours linking Williams rookie Colapinto to a potential shock move to RB or even Red Bull in 2025, Verstappen says he can see why Colapinto has earned so much attention.
“It’s a bit difficult for me to answer. I’m busy with other things to improve,” he said.
“He’s doing a great job at the moment in Formula 1, so that’s great to see. I understand, of course, that it’s very attractive for a lot of teams to have him, so it’s up to the team also to see what they want to do.”
Lawson “frustrated” to miss out on points
Liam Lawson admits he was “frustrated” to miss out on a point in ninth place in the sprint race after being passed late by Sergio Perez meant he could not catch Pierre Gasly in the Alpine ahead.“Obviously when you’re defending from a Red Bull, it’s quite difficult,” Lawson told the official F1 channel.
“I think we had the speed today. Just not enough to attack Pierre, who I was basically stuck behind for most of the race. And when a Red Bull comes, it’s obviously quite tricky. So it’s frustrating.”
Power unit problem was “pretty serious” – Hulkenberg
After retiring in the sprint race, Nico Hulkenberg suspects it was more than a minor problem with his power unit.
“There was a lot of smoke, so I suspect there was something related to the power unit,” he said. “The team asked me to stop on track, so must’ve been pretty serious.
“Up until then, it was going actually okay, but I think we were struggling as a team with the tyres. Just high deg, very hot out there. Just faced some very high temperatures, which was making life hard.”

Neue Verdächtigungen gegen McLaren: Trickserei mit Wasser im Reifen? (AMuS (German))
'In Brazil, it was Red Bull's turn as the accuser again. This time, it's about filling water into the tyres. The trick is supposedly used to help cool the tyres from the inside over long distances. The water is allegedly injected through the valves, and even small amounts are said to produce the desired effect. Several teams, including McLaren, are rumoured to benefit from this practice in long runs.'
Josh Fisher disqualified from Walter Hayes Trophy meeting (Formula Scout)
'Afterwards, Fisher sought Bezuidenhout and expressed his opinions of the driver and the incident in terms which the clerk of the course did not deem acceptable. He found Fisher guilty of contravening Motorsport UK regulation regarding abusive language and behaviour after a report from a member of event staff that confirmed Fisher had said to Middlehurst ''wait until I am behind you then you are f***ed.'''

What were McLaren playing at, honestly? If you want to try and win this Drivers' Championship, get on with it and stop worrying about hurting people's feelings. Did you EVER see Max Verstappen worry about upsetting people? #BrazilGP #BrazilianGP #SaoPauloGP

After the planned qualifying session on Saturday afternoon saw only the Safety Car and circuit sweeping vehicles take to the track, Riccard is bemused…
If you’d told me yesterday that Aston Martin would be fastest in a wet qualifying, I’d have been delighted.

After the race (Verstappen win after Colapinto Red Flag) it seems a done deal.
Now just waiting for the conspiracy theories to surface ;)
