Sauber has unveiled its special livery for this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix after several days of teasers on social media.
The second team to reveal a special design for this weekend’s grand prix after Williams, Sauber has shown off their new livery which features a flame motif. The team ran a special all-black livery at last year’s inaugural race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. This year’s design incorporates the neon green colours of the team’s chassis sponsor Kick with flames on the front wing and rear of the monocoque.
Team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi said the livery reflected the shared mentality between the team and their title sponsor Stake.
“Stake has always helped us create some impressive one-off designs and this is no different,” Alunni Bravi said.
“Our special livery for Las Vegas is more than just a design – it’s a representation of our team’s ethos and of Stake’s philosophy. We push forward with relentless passion, just as this city does, and we’re excited to showcase our fiery spirit on one of the most thrilling stages in motorsport.”
Sauber are currently the only team remaining on the grid yet to have scored a point in this year’s championship, sitting at the bottom of the standings. They failed to score in the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix last year, when they competed as Alfa Romeo.

The team’s best result of the season came at the opening round of the year in Bahrain, with Zhou Guanyu finishing just outside the points in 11th place. Zhou and veteran team mate Valtteri Bottas will both leave Sauber at the end of the season, their third successive year together.

Looks like something I’d have done in Need For Speed Underground back in the early 2000s

Which is about the edge I’d expect from crypto bros, so it makes sense.

I doubt the Sauber Stakes will be “on fire” once they hit the track.

I see it took all of 2.5 hours for someone to do the going up/down in flames.
I assume everyone was busy working or something :)

Degen branding for a degen effort. It appears that team has been taking advantage of Zhou’s parents and using Bottas for credibility. The sooner Audi takes over the team, and the branding the better. Audi are better than whats going on there, I would love to see Zhou over at Ferrari, even doing some free practices or a race if the chance arises. He might not be the next big thing, but it’s clear Zhou’s family, much like Sargent’s is being taken for a ride and both drivers were offered sub-optimal drives/support.

Should they now make a pricey F1 74.11 official launch for that Sauber livery?
someone or something

I fail to see any difference. But then again, I haven’t really been paying attention to Sauber this year, there’s just no need to.

I genuinely don’t understand what’s going on with the graphic design at Stake/Sauber. Everything they touch with this branding looks like garbage. The neon green + black color combo should be a slam dunk, but this is a total mess. Flames, then a solid swoosh down the side, then fade to black only for the flames to start again at a vertical line in a totally arbitrary place? If it’s meant to mimic the awful zigzag of the normal livery, that zigzag is so arbitrary and unmemorable that a callback to it just doesn’t work.
Their team gear also looks awful. I’m a fan of Bottas, and would buy a hat to show my support, but the huge offset 77 and white text is just … repulsive.
I don’t get it. I don’t get how you could have a team whose graphic design is so uniformly awful.

Yeah I was going to say the same. Neon green flames on black – almost impossible to come up with something that doesn’t look cool.
They’ve managed it though!

Quite a range of views for the limited number of comments so far.
I’m kinda m’eh about it myself.
If I was going to be picky, well I would remove all the green that has no actual ‘flame’ element. The hubs, the cockpit, the side stripes etc. If ‘green; is representing flames, then what’s with it being a randomly used filler colour as well?

Not one person has said they liked it. Not too big of a range.
