  1. Wow, that was unexpected.

  2. Checo finally reached Q3 for a change, but what a qualifying by Max.
Ocon clearly lacks pace & he’ll probably be the outright slowest on average in the race as well.
With Hulkenberg, on the other hand, something must’ve been wrong with the car, especially considering that KMag reached Q3.
Alonso also had a decent qualifying for a change.

  3. A big improvement from Red Bull, they’re weren’t close to that time yesterday and even today in the sprint the car was nothing impressive.

Red Bull from fourth quickest to the quickest car – it’s almost like they aren’t maximising the fastest package throughout the season.

    1. And this happened sometimes before. That’s probably their biggest issue throughout the year, as Max wasn’t happy with it all of a sudden while leading races, like in Miami and Imola, as if the car just went out of its optimal operating window mid race.

Even Perez didn’t look too embarrassing this session.

    2. at least they got rid of the bazookas.

    3. @come-on-kubica Worth pointing out that this is a sprint weekend rather than a standard weekend, so usually they’d have more time before any competitive session to get the setup right. I also don’t think setup issues are unique to Redbull. I think the ground effect cars have a notoriously small operating window and allow the teams have struggled to find the right setup to a greater or lesser extent.
