'I completely understand how it’s easy to assume that somebody in his mid-to-late 50s still has some runway left, or there’s got to be something else to it, but there’s no underlying thing that’s been the catalyst for this. It’s really down to, ‘Man, if I keep up this pace forever, I won’t experience a whole lot outside of racing.’'
'Sports are facing a critical threat of losing competitors, referees, and officials due to the escalation of online abuse, according to the FIA’s United Against Online Abuse (UAOA) Campaign.'
'Fox will feature all three of its driver-focused promotions for its inaugural season of IndyCar coverage during the network’s telecast of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 9th in New Orleans. The Super Bowl audience is massive, with last year’s game between the Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers attracting more than 120 million viewers.'
'According to the plans, the first units of the new Dallara 324 for the 2025 Euroformula Open (season) are being delivered this week. One chassis each was delivered to Team Motopark, BVM Racing, NV Racing and STK Melnik.'
Toxic online abuse now ‘routinely’ targeting referees and officials leading to talent drain (FIA)

I don’t think there would be any toxic abuse if they were consistently good.
You get better ones if they are not destroyed by ‘pushy parent’ types early in their career. Rugby referees are way better than football ones. Why? Because when they start out there is an understanding that the abuse of referees/officials will not be tolerated and will only negatively impact you or the team your son/daughter is playing/racing for.
I think you are naïve to think there will not be any toxic abuse if they were’ good’. ‘Good’ is a subjective decision sometimes and those for or against a driver/team will often have opposing views of the decision
I thought the one where Jackie said he had more plaid pants was the funniest. Perhaps the only one (including my own weak attempt) that was catchy, funny and not grinding an axe because Max is public enemy number one in a certain country where any allegations of bias cannot be true. Even if they come from the esteemed Adrian Newey. He should be a Knight of the F1 realm.
It was Orwell’s two minutes of hate, condensed into… far more than two minutes. If it hadn’t already, the mask has well and truly slipped. Stick up a picture of That Dutchman and let the wailing commence!
The film trailer looks genuinely good.
Given that it’s largely the same creative team and the same angle (aging hotshot brought back in as mentor) as Top Gun: Maverick, I’d honestly be fine if the F1 film turns out to be nothing more than this generation’s Days of Thunder

It seems those who write the good captions took the day off. This was largely a procession through grapes that did not taste remotely sweet.

I just hope it is a fun film with a plot that is not too obtuse to follow along with the action :-)

Looks good indeed they are using camera images of other cars? because I didn’t see any contact with Max and Brad…

I never thought Lance Stroll would test-drive a rally car.

So long as he is exploring other possible arenas for his racing driver cos-play fantasy, I don’t mind.
I would love for Lance to quit this season and Yuki get his seat for 2026.
Yeah, yeah I know … I’m a dreamer ;)

Stroll is obviously not a top tier driver, but let’s not take the other extreme. He has more podiums than Albon, Tsunoda and Hülkenberg combined.

MichaelN – His statistics are indeed comparatively better concerning sporting success.

Probably part of his training to help him get out of gravel traps.

or
perhaps he enjoyed his time in the gravel trap more than F1 racing and wants to move to WRC.

Cool to see Lance Stroll trying rally cars. Now he’ll be prepared the next time he drives into a gravel trap.
