Welcome to Wednesday’s edition of the RaceFans round-up.

Comment of the day

Williams’ latest announcement is another sign they are on the right track compared to their situation five years ago, says Deerhunter:

Jira and Confluence are big names in the corporate SaaS space, and I definitely see Atlassian as a major step up from the very questionable Rokit.

As much as I abhor the [venture capital] types, Dorilton at least seems to be doing things right with regards to Williams after Capito left. Bringing in someone like Vowles, who in turn brought Sainz and Atlassian on board and took a gamble with Colapinto that eventually paid off, won’t immediately push Williams forward, but it’s a start.

Hopefully, Dorilton can give Vowles some room to breath now instead of asking for immediate results. The dream is to see Vasseur’s Ferrari racing with a resurging Williams for victories

  1. Nice helmet. Should do for anything from a Daft Punk video to Colonising a habitable planet orbiting a distant star. Maybe those are the same thing?!?

  2. Albon’s standard 2025 helmet design looks barely any different from last season’s, but a decent design anyway.

I still like the 2010 Team Lotus livery design.
    I don’t know, just a somewhat more unique-looking for a modern-ish F1 car.

    1. Maybe that they aped the original Lotus colours when designers had to keep it simple and beautiful

I miss the days of the car reveal and the drivers awkwardly sitting on a tyre.

    1. With an even more awkward-looking reserve driver doing his contractual obligation ;)

The “Tune” logo on the Lotus sidepod is similar font to that of “Stake” with Sauber

  4. Tech companies competing with each other for F1 sponsorship.
Perplexity is aced by Oracle for Red Bull. Oracle is a competitor with Perplexity, both trying to buy other tech companies, no deal for Red Bull.
Perplexity is an interesting AI – “a conversational search engine”. (their quote)
