Mercedes has presented the livery for its new 2025 car at Formula 1’s pre-season launch event in London.
The team, which won eight consecutive constructors’ titles between 2014 and 2021, is heading into its first season without Lewis Hamilton in its driver line-up since 2012.Andrea Kimi Antonelli will make his grand prix debut for the team when the season begins in Australia next month. He joins George Russell, who has driven for the team since 2022.
Mercedes won four grands prix last year, the most since its last championship victory, but fell to fourth in the standings, its lowest position in 12 years.
The team presented its latest livery on a show car. It is not due to reveal its W16 chassis until Monday.
Its latest design is largely similar to last year’s livery, featuring a silver nose and black flanks. One noticeable change is the removal of Ineos’ branding from the engine’s air intake, which is now silver. However the logos of Ineos, a one-third owner of the Mercedes team, remain on the insides of the car’s front wing end plates.
Team principal Toto Wolff praised F1 for its new initiative in hosting a single pre-season launch event attended by all the teams.

“What an incredible evening and an event from F1,” he said after the F1 75 event. “The sport continues to set new milestones with such occasions, and I hope the thousands watching in the arena, and everyone tuning in at home, thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Mercedes has a long history in motorsport and it’s an unbelievable honour to carry that baton forward. We start to write the next chapter in our story this year with George and Kimi, and we’re excited to get going.”

Wish they would go back to silver.

Same. I’m very tired of the black look on all the cars. I get that they want to save weight. May as welll have 20 black cars driving around then.

No Ineos, as far as I can see.

Remember when he was “Britain’s richest man Jim Ratcliffe”? Now he appears to be living the joke about how you make a small fortune, by starting with a large one.

Pastaman. What a weird comment. The first picture and first associated article did not show or mention Ineos.
The pictures were later updated, as was the article which obviously made mention of the Ineos sponsorship.
So your comment was ill-informed and a bit rude.

Ouch, looks like they’ve lost a lot of sponsors. Look how bare it is compared to the others.

Anyone else getting old Tyrrell vibes from this?? This is how you tweak a livery and make it better. The loss of Ineos is our gain – and the black stripe on the engine cover is sublime. Looks great from above too.

Ineos aren’t gone, the logos are still on the car and race suits and they still own 1/3 of the team.
Not having their awful red on the car actually works for me.

Yeah, the car looks better for not having the Ineos red too visible. Shame they didn’t add more silvery paint on the car though, is that weight saving again? Or a choice. Not a fan of the livery, although it’s not bad, just not outstanding.

What “no”? It’s the best livery on the grid and the best looking F1 car.

I watched the video later and it did look better than I had thought from these pictures. I still don’t think it’s different enough to some of the recent ones. Was hoping it would be mostly silver or substantially different in some way to represent the change at the team.

Grey on top is the only noticeable difference from last season.

I like it. Reminds me of those West McLarens. This silver seems to be very glisteny though.
