Ferrari’s new SF-25 has run for the first time at the team’s test track in Fiorano.
Charles Leclerc was the first of the team’s drivers to sample its latest car for the 2025 season. The team is conducting a 200 kilometre filming day at its Maranello base today. After his first run the driver gave a cautious assessment of the team’s new car, saying he expects to learn more about its potential when the team takes part in the single official pre-season test at Bahrain International Circuit at the end of next week.
“It’s very difficult to feel [the change] on a Thursday on a track like Fiorano with such cold conditions,” he said. “I think we will most likely see a lot more in Bahrain.
“However, the scope of a day like this is to first of all see the first numbers, to see if there’s nothing standing out. The first feeling, to see if there’s nothing standing out in a negative way. And nothing is coming out from that so that means it’s a positive first day. But more than that, it’s very difficult to say.”
Ferrari revealed the livery for its new car yesterday at Formula 1’s official pre-season launch event, F1 75 Live, held in London. Meanwhile the team was completing work on its first chassis for the 2025 season.

Now we’re really getting underway. Something timeless about these Fiorano runs, with a gaggle of tifosi urging them on. (Boooo to HP, it looks rubbish in real life too.)

Not long now. I’m getting pumped but not quite foaming at the mouth…YET
Waiting to see who’s the fastest out of the gate. Although once upon of time Melbourne was not necessarily a true indicator of how the season would unfold. Hoping the topsy turvy patches of last season is the norm this year!

I like this red more.
Bad HP uneven white .. Much better they would have reduced the big white at rear and put instead another white band there.

The car livery does look messy. A classic red/yellow car with sponsors logos randomly stuck all over it. To be honest I don’t mind the white stripe quite so much in the daylight but it all looks messy. But as long as it’s fast!

What an absolute mess of a car livery wise. That side shot with the fans in the background just looks horrible.

It looks like a coupon catalog that gets slid under your apartment door. Too many distinctive logos, clashing colors, etc. + bizarre looking size scales for logo sponsors. I’m sure those sizes are contractually defined with HP obviously wanting every last spec of visibility, but when they see what a mess the car is one hopes they might give in and be a little bit more flexible. I can only imagine the cost of advertising on the Ferrari this season. It must be astronomical. And it’s always been astronomical (well, at least since Schumacher came to Ferrari).

I hope they rework this white HP spot. It’s much larger than it needs to be and the fact there’s nothing else in the space because it’s HP’s space and no one else’s, makes it look even worse.

Reminiscent of the red of Total in the years of Lotus/Renault, they never figured out how to make it not look terrible

To me the white stripe isn’t bad at all. I don’t love it, but overall I think it works. My issue with the livery is the massive amount of sponsors! A good problem to have, but it does look very cluttered.

+ 1. As I said above, it’s a mess. Too cluttered.
