F1 75 gave us an early look at the team’s liveries, but not until today did we have a chance to see every real car for the 2025 season in action on the same track.
Now we have, it’s time to give our verdict on which team has produced the best-looking car this season.
Which car on the 2025 Formula 1 grid has the best blend of shape and style? Compare them all and cast your vote below.
McLaren
McLaren made a big fuss of returning to their orange (sorry, ‘papaya’) colour scheme a few years ago, but they’re replaced much of it with black since then. This year’s car also features a splash of dark blue from their latest sponsor and retains those distinctive wheel rims with their ‘nursery school’ vibe.

Ferrari
Ferrari are regular winners of our ‘best livery’ polls, including last year. However, that car only raced in its original guise for a handful of events, after which the arrival of a new title sponsor presented Ferrari with the challenge of blending clashing blue logos into their traditional red colouring. Their latest look also features a deeper shade of scarlet and rather more white than before.
Red Bull
Unmistakably a Red Bull: Little has changed on their livery for several years. Whether that makes it tired or a modern classic is a matter of taste.
Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and
Mercedes
Mercedes were silver, then black and since last year they’ve been a bit of both. They’ve deleted the maroon logo of a major sponsor from the roll hoop since last year.
Aston Martin
Like McLaren, Aston Martin clung to their heritage colour scheme at first, but it’s been gradually diluted by other shades: A bit of blue here, some white there and more black on the sidepods this year. The day-glo numbers stand out better than before.
Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and
Alpine
This time last year Alpine hardly had a livery to speak of, having peeled most of the paint off their overweight chassis. The A525 is a clear contrast with a striking pink-blue colour scheme – at least at the front.
Haas
Haas liveries tend to be variations on a theme, 2019’s disastrous dalliance with an energy drink brand notwithstanding. This year’s car has a lot more white on it, which chimes in neatly with their recent tie-up with Toyota.

Racing Bulls
‘Don’t buy a white car, it’ll show up the dirt’, goes the typical advice to car-buyers. Someone forgot to tell Red Bull’s second team Racing Bulls. That said, the Red Bull logo arguably stands out better against this clean livery than it does on the main team’s car. But is the true purpose of this stripped-down livery to serve as a blank canvas for special editions later in the season?
Williams
Williams’ major new sponsor blends in well with their traditional colour scheme – no repeat of their 1998 horror show here. The airbox design is surely the cutest graphic on the grid.
Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and
Sauber
Sauber went snot-green months before Charli XCX made it cool. Fans of their livery should enjoy it while it lasts, as this car will be an Audi next year, and their corporate colours are unlikely to be this daring.

Racing Bulls of course!

I’m not really in F1 mode again yet, so this article is the first I’ve seen of some of these cars. None really stand out to me. I voted for the Racing Bulls livery, but not particularly bowled over by any of them.

Red Bull B team, hands down.

Racing Bulls for me. Quite like Alpine and Aston Martin as well. Nothing else stands out.

Alpine for me, brave and nice change.

I dont care avout liveries, those are just for sponsors. I care about the tech underneath

Exactly.
Plus, my words: Usually, by the end of the season most of the fanbase (which is not represented here) thinks the car and driver that are winning, are the nicest and best. So for me, in a way, this poll is a bit degrading.

I don’t really like any of them if I’m honest. I’ve voted for Alpine because the black sidepods make the on boards look like an early 2000s cars with sidepods much further back. That said the rest of it is a mismatch between a pink sponsor on a blue car.
I don’t think there’s been a huge change for any of the other teams other than adding more black. Racing Bulls look different but really it’s a bland Japan (Turkey) Red Bull. I don’t think it’s better than the 2017 Toro Rosso livery, for example. Mercedes and Red Bull look smart, Ferrari have the same issue as Alpine by integrating a sponsor that is fundamentally against the brand identity.
So all in all, fairly ugly liveries on fairly ugly big cars. Still, it’s good to have them back.

I quite enjoy the grid this year. The Haas is an improvement, and the Racing Bull looks great. Not sold on the Williams, I feel it could have been implemented better, and a lot of the others don’t appear that much different.
The one that stood out to me most in testing was the Alpine. At least in comparison to F1 75. I like that it’s more shiny again. I’m tired of the matte finishes.
But overall, I think the Racing Bull is the most striking.

Yes, none seems very special, generally red bull and ferrari use colour combinations I like, but for this year none stands out more than usual, so not voting anything; seems a slam dunk poll in favour of “toro rosso”, though.

Haas is on twice as a choice instead of sauber.

Should we read into that there is a bias on this site?
Only joking.

@dubaemon Well, being accused of being pro-Haas would make a nice change from the usual!
Thanks for the heads-up, fixed that.

Red Bull and Mercedes look cool. Alpine is nicely done, given the difficult colour scheme they had to work with.
I’m sad to say the Ferrari looks awful. Just a mess of stickers.

Definitely Red Bull’s B team, although Alpine have done a nice job improving theirs, but maybe that’s not saying much. Ferrari… whoever’s doing their design, shouldn’t.

I do think the Red Bull livery is a modern classic, but it essentially hasn’t changed. There were three that I particularly like, in ascending order:
3: Mercedes – Tidied up version of their usual livery with a bit more silver I think? Dropping the red Ineos sponsorship has helped a lot too. Hopefully I won’t constantly mistake it for an Aston this season.
2: Racing Bulls – The sponsors are a bit scattergunned, but the bright colour scheme works well with the Red Bull logo
1. Haas – I think it’s the best job of matching the colour scheme with the sponsors, and the angular design works with the theme (industrial machinery).
Slower cars also tend to get associated with being bland in my mind, so I gave it to Haas before the season starts and I become biased against them :P

They look very different in action under lights (the Mercedes is nice, more silver) from a still image in sunshine. A profile shot of the Racing Bulls livery looks great, but head-on on TV there’s a bit too much white. The deep red on the Ferrari looks lovely on telly, and you can almost ignore the desecration by HP. Almost – c’mon, there’s still time to fix it.
The Red Bull’s been improved by removing the seedy crypto dregs from the front wiiings.

Other than the Visa Cash Bull and the Alpine, they’re all pretty ugly.

For me the best is the Williams, closely followed by the Aston-Martin.
Was hoping for much better from the reportedly darker red Ferraris.
Side view of the McLaren is, frankly, dreadful.

Is it me, or has the Sauber changed liveries…? I’m sure their previews had lots of blending (which looked really cool) – that appears to now be a casualty….

Racing bull’s livery is just lazy, white and yellow doesn’t blend well, and it’s an obvious appeal to the fans that liked the 2021 white red bull… Compare this with the classic Toro Rosso days, those were much more beautiful
As for the rest, pretty forgettable year, just like the year before and the other ones

Unpopular opinion; I think the RB livery is extremely bland and it only stands out as it’s the sole white car on the grid. I preferred last year’s livery.

I’m choosing Racing Bulls this year, but I’d rather keep voting for the F1-75 from 2022. One of the best-looking F1 cars of the modern era.
