Norris hits out at ‘fabricated nonsense’ in Netflix’s Drive to Survive (The Guardian)
'To portray someone in an incorrect way, people are going to have their opinions of that incorrect person, it’s almost lying in some ways. I just don’t think that’s correct.'
F1 teams sign 2026 commercial 'Concorde' agreement (Reuters)
'The teams include General Motors-backed Cadillac, who are due to enter next year as the 11th outfit.'
A difficult start (Ferrari)
Frederic Vasseur: 'When the rain returned, we took the risk of staying out, as indeed did Max (Verstappen). But then we got our next strategy move wrong by staying out one lap too long, and we paid the price.'
Race recap (Haas)
Esteban Ocon: 'It’s really the performance we missed out on this race, if we had a little bit more we would’ve been in the mix for points. The cars were fighting in front and I was just there, there was no position for me to get inside the top 10, I just couldn’t keep up unfortunately.'
Formula 1 owner bets on Brad Pitt’s pulling power to shift into US mainstream (The Financial Times)
Liberty Media CEO Derek Chang: 'Any time Brad Pitt’s in a movie people pay attention. The movie is serving the super fan, but also driving this mainstream.'
Melbourne feature race cancelled (Formula 2)
Bruno Michel: 'We tried everything we could to make it happen, but ultimately, the track conditions were too dangerous, which the drivers confirmed over the radio, so the right call was to cancel.'
Norris had a cheeky dig at Verstappen when the drivers were asked during the press conference if they had any concerns about the recovery vehicles and marshals on-track during Safety Car periods in today's race.

Good on Lando for pointing out the incorrect representation of Max in that cancerous show

The BSky tweet seemed to be the misrepresentation, as I read it as both Max and Lando having a dig at George.

COTD is spot-on & that’ll probably continue to be the case.
Unsurprisingly, Netflix effectively always ignores driver feedback or criticism.
A question about recovery vehicles & or marshals on track during an SC period is pretty pointless since SC neutralization has been a thing in such situations ever since 2015.
Anthony Hamilton not only consolidated Hadjar on the paddock pathway but also separately in his driver room.

I wonder if Max’s lack of errors is in part due to his driving style. Which is not to attack a corner on entry and be a late breaker but rather he’s somewhat early on the brakes and prioritises corner exit. Which I would think naturally give some room for error and allows for adjustments to be made if necessary.
Couple that with SIM driving, in which there is no physical connection to an actual car, and you have a great recipe for success.
Not having a physical connection with the car means you’re relying much more on other sense and information

Good for Norris to call these manipulative and deceptive tactics out. Maybe these producers are better working of working at something like Fox.
It’s perhaps a bit early to call the deal made with Andretti the Concorde Agreement, as the part that is most contentious, namely the governance, hasn’t been worked out yet. The FIA seems keen to roll back some of what Todt agreed to last time around, and FOM will no doubt like to keep those powers now that they have gotten a taste of them.

MichaelN,
Does anyone know if these clauses will carry over into the new Concorde agreement, or will the entire agreement need to be renegotiated from scratch ? If both parties refuse to compromise on a particular clause, what happens then ? Would they revert to the previous agreement as a fallback, or is a full rewrite inevitable ?

Maybe it is time for the drivers to stop cooperating with Drive to Survive, forcing the series to innovate. The series proved its worth, but exceeded the expiration date. It is ‘revive to survive’ time!

Worth? What would that be? Letting people believe that it’s a kind of WWE so the sport (income) can grow? These people will be bored to death and leave the sport quickly if they find out it’s an actual sport which can be dominated by a team for years and that the people in it are not each others worst enemies. So I’m afraid there will be more gimmicking and tweaking to keep the show going and the championship close. Look at the mini-DRS rule for China. McLaren are on top and could be running away with it. They benefit from it so instead of waiting till race 9 where things could be already very one-sided we hurry a rule because the three tenths they have in hand now qill be less from race 2. It’s not a coincidence that this rule is brought in already.

Lando’s right. DTS is Americanised nonsense with fake drama, fake audio messages & commentary, fake engine sounds etc. I could only stomach the first season & it apparently only got worse after that.

Are we positive Audi fully signed on to the 2026- 2031 Concorde agreement, in light of today’s news I’d expect some resistance from German autoworker unions.Or maybe we’ll see more Qatari funding news in the following days
