Lance Stroll is not taking part in today’s final practice session at the Nurburgring. His Racing Point team have said he is unwell.

The team is only running Sergio Perez’s car in this morning’s practice session for the Eifel Grand Prix.

Stroll participated in the media sessions which were held at the track on Thursday. No running took place on Friday due to adverse weather conditions.

The team said in a statement: “Lance Stroll is not feeling 100% this morning and will therefore not participate in final practice.”

Under F1’s rules Stroll or any driver who may be chosen to replace him must take part in today’s qualifying session in order to be able to race on Sunday.

“His condition will be assessed after the session to evaluate whether he is fit to drive, at which point the team will confirm plans for quali,” the team added.

Nico Hulkenberg has previously appeared as a substitute for Racing Point this year. He drove in both events at Silverstone as a substitute for Perez, who tested positive for Covid-19.

Too late for Hulk to do a covid test.
    Put Schumacher in that Jordan.

    1. BBC say that Hulk is at the track for broadcasting anyway

    2. covid test time is 15 minutes with the quick test so he is fine.

So he can qualify in the top 10 and after first lap be in top 5 and after a few laps retire for a mechanical issue and for the next race he can take a seat in a team that got its name from an italian clothing brand.

        Sounds like a plan @qeki

  3. Its too close in the constructiors for them to run schumacher…hulk is at the track (nico rosberg confirmed that on sky) so its a done deal….and he is quicker than stroll anyway

  4. Hopefully, he hasn’t got infected.

    1. Well he probably has some sort of infection, hence the illness. Could be something else entirely of course.

  5. What happens if Stroll got infected with covid in the paddock? Could tomorrows race be called off?

  7. Hey Checo, I found my sandwich! Someone had put it in this glass jar with the biohazard symbols. Mmm, falafels!
