  1. Great race, Interlagos never dissapoints!
I presume that Red Bull during the race saying ‘let them race’ means they are now ok with Silverstone? I don’t mind people running others off track, but you do have to stay on the track yourself, very puzzling by the stewards especially as I keep reading that they are helping Mercedes win the championship apparently! Anyway, tin foil hat at the ready :)
Great race though. Great drive from Hamilton and Max did well to get 2nd even if I don’t agree with his driving today. Roll on next race!

@john-h You pretty much sum up my feelings perfectly. That (and yesterday as well) was one of the most incredible drives you will ever see in this sport. While Verstappen 100% should have been penalised (there’s being aggressive, then there’s running people off the track, and then there’s that move), I’m much happier at seeing the race decided on track than with a time penalty that removes Lewis from having any motive to go for it (or give RB another opportunity to get their PowerPoints at the ready). There are people on both sides on the fan divide saying the FIA are handing this to whichever team they don’t support, and these have been annoying me most of this season. Why can’t people just enjoy a great season?

  2. A questionable steward decision, but a good battle otherwise.

  3. Game ON. Hope the remaining 3 races are as exciting as this one. Great job by the GOAT44

  4. E-P-I-C! Beating a fantastic driver like Max in this manner was soooooo satisfying! Everything against Lewis this weekend and wins from 10th. One of the great weekend performances ofF1 folklore.

  5. This Mercedes in the hands of Lewis is an unbeatable combo.
What a speed difference and what a drive.
    Nice season!

    1. Erik gives Lewis his dues! Maybe there is life on Mars!

      1. +1 on that. We need to remember the respect when we’re suffering too :-)

        Nice on, Erikje. Race on.

      2. Hey, I’d love to see some life form Mars. :)
But great sportsmanship from Erikje, it’s nice to see. Hope every one sees it and shows the same behavior when Max wins races.

        1. I cant speak for everyone but yes, I certainly do give Max his dues! When deserved. It’s just the first time I’ve seen Erik do it for Lewis. It’s usually just baiting from him. Credit where it’s due but feel it wouldve been harder for Erik had Max not ended the weekend 14 points ahead in the WDC (which he deserves to be BTW) Prove me wrong next week erik 😁

    2. Kudos erikje

That was amazing from Lewis. Unbelievable. Questionable decision from the stewards (it really should have been a penalty imo. There’s being aggressive, then there’s running people off the track, and then there’s that move), but I’m much happier it was decided on track than with Lewis sitting behind Max had he received a 5 second penalty

    1. @randommallard the problem is it sets a precedent that to defend all Verstappen need do is show the outside and then make your opponent choose to crash or leave the circuit. Shamefully biased stewarding.

@slowmo No doubt, and it 100% was the wrong decision, but I’m just saying Lewis sitting behind for 20 laps knowing he essentially has to do nothing would have robbed us of what was a pretty good climax.

  7. Lucky with the VSC there Valteri, surprised you thought of 1-2, without VSC, it would have been 1-4, not even the fastest lap point because, it would be with your teammate.

    1. Bottas pitted latest, so he could have had chance of making the one stop work. Still not sure why they did not try it with him.

He would have likely finished 4th as Perez pulled a 34+ second gap to Leclerc by the end. Bottas was around 28 ahead and would have suffered a drop off.

  8. My granny could have won in that Mercedes.

    1. Sign her up for Red Bull @rinodina ;)

      1. You got it wrong, she could have won with that Merc, not with the RBR. The gods themselves would have lost with that RBR

    2. Your granny must be an incredible driver then!

    3. @rinodina And Hamilton could have won in that Red Bull.

    4. Your granny isn’t Valteri Bottas then.

    5. They offered the job to my granny, she refused, saying it was not challenging enough for her.

Seriously, there is only so much you can defend from such a faster car in the DRS era. That was a push-to-pass victory. My hamster would have won with that Merc.

    6. My dog’s fleas would have won with that Merc. My granny was offered the job but she refused, it was not challenging enough for her.

  9. Really surprised the stewards didn’t penalize Hamilton for causing a vortex of air that pulled Verstappen off track with him.

    1. Love this comment lol!

  10. Solid drive from Lewis all weekend. Well deserved win.

  11. That was special from Hamilton! It will go down as one of his best! Brazil never fails to deliver an incredible race!
It’s almost better for Hamilton to have had the weekend he has, he’s at his best when he feels like things are against him.
Have to wait and see where the Red Bull/Mercedes balance lies in Qatar, all signs point to a last race showdown! Bring it on!!

  12. Still can’t believe they let that run off stick stewards are inviting bad driving.

Epic drive from Hamilton this weekend.

But I’ll probably now have to suffer disrespectful comments on the car doing all the work.

Max still drove well apart from his defending.

    1. I agree, I always loved watching Kimi defend a few years ago, right to the limit but never beyond. It’s the same for “most” of the drivers of that generation. It’s seems now there’s been a shift and it’s win at all costs – just simply push the rival well off the track, and the FIA are helping that mentality. For me the racing is worse because of that

  13. Congrats to Lewis for keeping the race on after that Max defense and not be crying around for penalty like his team of course did all the time. Let them race for once. All this “gained a lasting advantage” crusade is destroying racing, too much of an arbitrary rule.

  14. Why didn’t the stewards penalized Sainz for cutting off Norris’ tyre? He moved to the right too late and ruined an opponent race. I don’t understand why he was allowed to continue unpunished.

  15. What happened with Ocon and Alonso on the last lap?

  16. This thing isn’t going to be very fun if Hamilton can just pass everyone like they are standing still. What the hell is going on. He might as well take a new ICE every race and just take the penalty if it is going to be this easy!!!
