Alfa Romeo’s new C42 chassis has made its public debut in pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, sporting a special testing livery.

The team will present the definitive colour scheme for its new 2022 car in a launch event on Sunday.

Alfa Romeo is the only team going into the 2022 season will an all-new driver line-up. Valtteri Bottas has joined from Mercedes and will be partnered by the only rookie on the grid, Guanyu Zhou.

However test driver Robert Kubica was first to run in the new car on Wednesday, sporting a camouflage helmet design to complement the car’s livery.

  1. Even the helmet.

    1. Probably to analyze the wind or something.

    2. The drivers were also in the pits rocking a camouflage outfit, so I guess there will be some merch too. Maybe one of their sponsors? It looked pretty cool.

  2. Those look like absolutely enormous sidepod cooling intakes.

  3. With that helmet looks like some just covered it all in wrapping paper.

Not sure they have much reason to hide stuff..!

  4. Did Alfa even field a car today? All I can see is four wheels and some sponsor decals.

    1. Hahaha, COTD contender. Or a mini caption competition winner.

  5. The car had better be competitive else a big waste of paint.
