The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola is offering refunds or ticket exchanges to all ticket holders for this weekend’s cancelled Formula 1 race.

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix was due to take place at the Italian circuit this weekend. However, due to the impact on flooding in the region after sustained rainfall in recent weeks, F1 announced yesterday that the event would not take place.

Last year’s Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend – the first sprint race weekend of the 2022 season – saw a total of 129,656 spectators attend the venue across the three days of competition, with over 42,000 tourists arriving into the region for the event. Many fans holding tickets for this weekend’s race had already begun their journeys to the region, with the opening day of practice originally planned for tomorrow.

As the race will not take place, the circuit has confirmed compensation plans for all ticket holders affected by the cancellation of the event due to the “ongoing weather emergency”.

The circuit will offer “all buyers who have purchased tickets through the sales network and the TicketOne.it purchasing platform” the choice of a refund of their ticket prices or the opportunity to convert their tickets for the 2023 event to next year’s Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix instead.

Due to the ongoing impact of the flooding in the region, the circuit says that ticketholders will be contacted with details about how to claim their refunds or ticket conversions via an email from the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI Sport) through TicketOne.it over the coming days.

Anyone affected by the cancellation of the event can seek out further information by visiting TicketOne.it or calling them on +39 892 101.

  1. Good. Fans should be given the option of getting refunded.

Not get refund and ?? Sorry i get this part

      1. The alternative could be to not get a refund and keep the tickets valid for next year insteas.

        1. @bascb @andrewf1 Both options refund OR get a 2024 ticket for their 2023 is available according to my friends who where at the circuit.

          1. Exactly.

Which is the right thing to do IMO. Offer fans to choose between a refund or getting a ticket for next year, whichever suits them better @andrewf1, @macleod

  2. Tickets, anyway. Travel is another animal.
    For us it was:
    Sav
    Hotlanta
    A’dam
    Milano
Train to Imola … lotsa “seat” time.

  3. Nice to see them make this clear so quick, rather than waiting to be pressured or shamed into it.

As @elchinero points out above, the majority of fans who were going will be out of pocket anyway for all the extra costs and arrangements involved.
So to get the price of the entry ticket back is a big help.

  4. Good that everyone affected gets these two options of their choice.

  5. all buyers who have purchased tickets through the sales network and the TicketOne.it purchasing platform” the choice of a refund of their ticket prices or …

When they say “a refund of their ticket prices” I hope they mean “a full refund of their ticket prices” including taxes.

    1. And administratikn/handling fees

  6. Finally something sensible is happening.
If it would have been sold out and everyone would have wanted to use these tickets next year would that have meant no one else could have bought the tickets?

  7. What they SHOULD have done at the 2021 Belgium Grand Prix.

    1. This one got canceled befor it began
Belgium had 3 FP’s, a qually and a race start. Stil i think a lotery for a few new tickets was crazy, they should have refunded everybody partially at least

      1. A “race start”… Yeah, sure! Lead by Bernd Mailänder, how exciting!
