Topping every FP session, qualifying pole and leading every race lap, setting fastest lap… so probably an 8/10 for MV.
To get 9/10 he would have probably have done all of the above, and started from the back due to an engine penalty (ok, so maybe not lead every lap then).
To get 10/10, anyone’s guess…

Top 3 all had very good races, but only one nailed Saturday if we’re doing DOTW not DOTD.

Tied between Hamilton and Verstappen (honorary mention for the wronged Tsunoda). I gave it to Hamilton simply because of his reaction after nearly being taken out in q2 by Russell (who also disqualified himself from DOTW for the same).

The real performer of the weekend are the stewards for the outstandingly quick response in throwing red flag in Q1 on Saturday followed by a 5 second penalty for Tsunoda in the later part of the race on Sunday. Well done. 10/10.

I know the commentators on f1 tv have implied this was the case, but I watched the onboard and that’s not true. Russel is taking the escape road and rejoins the track. The only car overtaken in the process is Piastri. Being lap 1 and the entire field is bunched up together I can hardly see this as a reason for a penalty (but I thought exactly the same before watching the footage and that’s the reason I went back to see what happened. )

I also watched the onboard of Russell. I think he overtook at least 2 cars that he wouldn’t have, had he stayed on track.

He tried to go side by side with Hulkenberg and Piastri but there wasn’t space. He shouldn’t have got a free pass to stay ahead of Piastri. Alonso did similar to this 2 years ago in Sochi https://www.racefans.net/2021/09/27/the-grey-area-alonso-exploited-with-his-first-lap-corner-cut-at-sochi/
He also gained positions vs drivers he was alongside and didn’t have to give them back.

Well, it’s for sure not the TV director. At one point I thought they were doing it on purpose. Missing actual overtakes (no new tire/old tire DRS muggings) just to show Verstappen on a cruise, or a close up of Hamiltons race helmet running in no mans land.. It just keeps getting worse. Another example, car rejoins the track after pitting. What do we want to know? Where does he feed in, where are the others, what are the gaps? I can’t tell because I’m checking to see if he has a bit of lunch stuck between his teeth. Stop it with the close ups already

Both times the battle for second place was overlooked. The race director constantly choose less important feeds over more crucial ones.
Watching Ham closing in on Sainz from three sec back down to 1.2 and the director chosen a mid tier fight beginning at 1,4 apart!
It’s not that hard to follow a priority list! A fight higher up should prioritised.
I was watching the timings more than camera in the first half of the race.
The filming in f1 has worsened this 3 races and don’t understand since this is supercritical sell the show. Feels like whoever call the shots does no grasp the intricacies of Formula 1
