Timo Glock took the lead of the GP2 championship back off Lucas di Grassi with an untroubled win the sprint race at Istanbul. Having won yesterday’s feature race di Grassi failed to score after picking up a drive-through penalty in the sprint event.
Lucas di Grassi took his first win of 2007 and the championship lead along with it. He profited from poor luck for title rival Timo Glock who narrowly missed out on a podium finish after a stirring drive. Giorgio Pantano finished second ahead of Adam Carroll who scraped across the line ahead of Glock.
