Another new car on the grid this weekend: a new NGTC Vauxhall Insignia entered by Thorney Motorsport.

That makes it a record 30 cars – fantastic!

And to add to that, James Thompson’s back for the event!

Edit: My bad, I see this has already been addressed in another thread.

Anyway. Why the batman logo? No doubt it’s going to be called ‘The Batmobile’ all weekend!

So far there doesn’t seem to be any explanation for it. I wondered if it was some sponsorship deal, but I don’t think it’s that either.

another new shape on the grid is always welcome, and im glad its a saloon car too not a hatchback.
wont be as good as Super Frank though. but I do think he’ll be challenging Tony Hughes Avensis

30 cars is record breaking?????? :S

TC2000 usually has 40 cars, with 20 of them entered as privateers. And that’s been the case for years… seems odd the ‘crème de la crème’ of touring car racing has less than 30.

@fer-no65 Yes, yes, we all know how great your crazy Argentinian touring car series is :-)

    Why you should watch… TC2000

But it’s great to see healthy and competitive grids in the BTCC again, compared to how it was ten years ago.

Indeed. It wasn’t all that long ago that I thought the BTCC was going to die. 10 cars on the grid wasn’t great!

The Insignia looks fantastic. I presume it’s the same platform as the Cruze so it stands a good chance of being competitive.

@keithcollantine just saying. :P I still love BTCC, it’s difficult to erase the memories of the Lagunas, A4s, Volvos, etc… and TOCA 2 :P

FYI, TC2000 will have 400 hp V8 engines next year. :P

from what Team Dynamics have just tweeted it seems Yvan Muller may be driving for them this weekend in a 3rd car! with his return and Thommo It feels like the late 90’s again!

picture looks odd, it may just be a show display, its number 00 for one thing, think my excitement clouded my eyes, but hope he is on track

@ratboy There must be a reason for it. Muller has no commitments this weekend, Honda want to win the championship…nothing stopping them bringing a 3rd car to stop Plato
