Ted Kravitz is in Jerez, doing ten-minute sumamries of each day’s testing. He’s got a few interesting comments on Alonso’s absence from the test, and is promising the full story today:

The short version (for those of you who don’t want to watch the whole thing) implies that Alonso doesn’t want to do the hard yakka in developing the F138 – it appears that Massa is doing all of the gruelling introductory stuff, and Alonso will help fine-tune the car. This is consistent with Ferrari’s test programme so far, since Massa seems to be doing long runs and virtually no setups work so to harvest the raw data on the car’s performance. But that’s just conjecture on my part.
