Probably ought to start a new topic about 2014, but the good news is BBC have held on to Allan McNish. He’ll be doing radio commentary for 15 Grands Prix, and it sounds like he’ll be on TV as well.
Allan McNish joins BBC team for 2014 season
Pretty poor that there’s no thanks or acknowledgement of Gary Anderson’s good work. I suspect “BBC Head Of F1 Ben Gallop” secretly hates F1 – every year he’s made some decision about presenters (I refuse to call them ‘talent’) that makes me think “why?! If only…”
But McNish is a superb communicator, and may be an improvement on Gary in terms of clarity, and knowledge of tactics and hybrid systems. We’ll see how much he knows about aero, but he can probably spot and report on what’s new for each race and session.
