Chris Amon dies at 73

    Sad news from New Zealand today, Chris Amon died at the age of 73 from cancer at Rotorua Hospital this morning, Wednesday 3rd August.

    Chris was most well known for winning the 24 Hrs of Le Mans in a Ford GT alongside Bruce McLaren with fellow kiwi & F1 driver Denny Hulme coming 2nd in another Ford GT.

    He also competed in F1 on a semi casual basis from 1963 to 1976, even briefly running his on team in 1966 & 1974, ending up with 11 podiums, 3 2nd places & 8 3rd places.
