I work in Welwyn Garden City. Welwyn Garden City has a Waitrose supermarket. You can see it from the main road, but it’s not immediately obvious how to get to the carpark.
So, very helpfully, they’ve put up a large sign on the nearby roundabout displaying a map and directions to follow.
Now this was lost on my non-motorsport-fan co-workers, but every time I see the sign I have a set of strange directions in my head…
…So, how do you get to Waitrose Car Park?
Through ‘Goddards’ and down the ‘Wheatcroft Straight’. Ease off through ‘Redgate’ and then back on the power through the ‘Craner Curves’ befor braking for the ‘Old Hairpin’. Finally, straight on at Starkey’s Bridge, park up, grab yer trolly and shopping you shall go!
Anyone else seen motor racing circuit layouts in unlikely places?

If you follow that link you will see a relief of the Montjuic circuit used in the late 60’s/early 70’s

Here’s the La Sarthe map: http://twitpic.com/6dwamm
And here’s the steak: http://theperpetualspiral.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/lmtrack.png

It’s called Rock You Like A Hurricane (classy!) by 1980s German metal band (explains a lot) The Scorpions. And for some absolutely bizarre season, the cover of the single has a diagram of Jerez on it:

9th September 2011, 11:20 at 11:20 am #157796AnonymousInactiveThere’s a “magic roundabout” in Hemel Hempstead too that I’ve driven round (in either direction) several times. You have to have eyes in the back and sides of your head.
