ParticipantI’m pretty sure this has been done already but I couldn’t find the previous thread. With Formula 1 returning to a circuit it should have returned to years ago I thought it would be interesting to see everyone’s dream 2016 F1 Calendar of International circuits that are currently, or have been recently in use by an International series. Should hopefully create some great debate. (Only 1 circuit per country applies for all calender’s). Calendars must be between 16-20 races). I’m going to rate the circuits based on 50% enjoyment/challenge to drive, 35% ability to make great racing and 15% fan support and heritage. Should some circuits be impossible for F1, please also note an alternative.
Dream Calendar
1. Mount Panorama (Australia) – 2nd choice Philip Island
2. Sepang (Malaysia)
3. Guia Circuit (China/Macau)
4. Middle East Grand Prix to rotate between Istanbul Park, Dubai Autodrome & Bahrain Outer Track
5. European Grand Prix to rotate between Mugello, Brno & Algarve
6. Aragon (Spain) -FIA layout
7. Circuit de Monaco (Monaco)
8. Circuit de la Sarthe (France) – 2nd choice Paul Richard Version 1
9. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (Canada)
10. Silverstone (UK) -new layout
11. Nurbugring Nordshleiffe (Germany) – 2nd choice Nurbugring GP
12. Red Bull Ring (Austria)
13. Zandvoort (Netherlands)

15. Monza (Italy)
16. Suzuka (Japan)

20. Interlagos (Brazil)1st November 2015, 15:57 at 3:57 pm #308273glynh
ParticipantWe’ve got a good selection at the moment so I wouldn’t change much, these are the current tracks unless noted otherwise;
1. Australia
2. Bahrain alternated with Abu Dhabi
3. China
4. Sochi
5. Spain (Aragon)
6. Monaco
7. Canada
8. Baku – really interested to see how such a steep narrow track turns out but it depends on the track whether I would keep it.
9. Austria
10. UK – silverstone
11. Germany – full Nurburgring is the dream with safer barriers everywhere but an ultra long track anywhere would be nice.
12. Monza
13. Belgium
14. Hungary
15. France – Le mans/Circuit de la Sarthe (no chicanes)
16. Singapore
17. Japan
18. USA – Laguna Seca
19. Mexico
20. BrazilI would like to see races in Africa and India as well but that’s my 20 and no tracks stand out for those 2.

InactiveFound the last (of possibly quite a few) thread: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/groups/f1/forum/topic/your-formula-one-calendar/
This was my post:
Fifteen races, not the ten of the first days, not the twenty of present. Inspired by 1986:
1. Brazil, Interlagos
2. Spain, Catalunya
3. San Marino, Imola
4. Monaco, Monte Carlo
5. Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps
6. Canada, Gilles Villeneuve
7. United States, Circuit of the Americas
8. France, Paul Ricard
9. Great Britain, Silverstone
10. Germany, Nurburgring
11. Hungary, Hungaroring
12. Austria, Red Bull Ring
13. Italy, Monza
14. Europe, Hockenheimring
15. Australia, Albert ParkI’ve always loved Kyalami – the modern version! I get it would probably not be a great addition, and my calendar tries to stay realistic and, with the exception of Paul Ricard, all of the circuits were in the calendar less than ten years ago. I’d put Kyalami first in the order, moving all the other races back.

ParticipantHere’s an entry using F1Fanatic rate the race data (2008-) – in the 2013 season article, there’s averages by track:
1. Melbourne
2. Sepang
3. Shanghai
4. Bahrain
5. Istanbul
6. Monaco
7. Montreal
8. Europe – Nurburgring
9. Silverstone
10. Hockenheim
11. Hungaroring
12. Spa
13. Monza
14. Singapore
15. Suzuka/Fuji
16. Korea
17. COTA
18. Interlagos
19. Abu DhabiOn the chopping block are Austria, Catalunya, Mexico, New Delhi, Magny-Cours and Valencia. Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Monaco and Suzuka next! Canada is the best track, followed by Nurburgring and COTA. Hockenheim and Russia are hit by controversy (2010 & 2014); apart from that, Russia might make the cut over Singapore.
@fixy It would be nice to see the proposed extension for Kyalami (longer straight to T2, adding a passing chance) and revamp to bump it up to F1 testing grade – wouldn’t be far from there to get back to FIA Grade 1.

ParticipantHi Browny, I love dream calendars and yours makes me dream indeed !
Here is my quite similar take, loosely based on the 1991 season, when there were not all those slots taken by soulless races in the Middle or Far East.
1. US West GP, Laguna Seca, maybe in rotation with Sonoma or Barber
2. Argentinian GP, Potrero de los Funes
3. European GP, Sachsenring, maybe in rotation with Charade
4. Monaco GP, Monaco
5. Canadian GP, Mont Tremblant
6. US East GP, V.I.R. (Full Course layout), maybe in rotation with Road America
7. French GP, Circuit de la Sarthe
8. British GP, Brands Hatch, maybe in rotation with Oulton
9. German GP, Nürburgring Nordschleife (24h design, with GP track)
10. Dutch GP, Zandvoort
11. Belgian GP, Spa-Francorchamps
12. Italian GP, Mugello (you said heritage counted only for 15%, right?)
13. Portuguese GP, Portimao (Algarve), maybe in rotation with Vila Real
14. Spanish GP, Montjuïc
15. Japanese GP, Suzuka
16. Australian GP, Mount PanoramaNotable leftovers would be Macau (not realistic enough I think), Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio (too many great tracks in the East US), Manfeild (F1 has never been to New Zealand), Monza and Hermanos Rodrigues (not that great as tracks, but best fan support).
