Here’s a driver line up based on the Driver Database ELO ratings. Obviously, in F1 this would be impacted by car strength, but in the junior levels (mostly spec series) this is less of a distortion.

Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg, Alonso, Raikkonen, Massa, Vandoorne, Button, Bottas, Ricciardo, Rosenqvist, de Vries, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, Rowland, Magnussen, (Lotterer and Bianchi), Kvyat, Ocon, Perez, Wehrlein, Nasr, Frijns.

Next in line are: Lynn, Palmer – Dennis, Verstappen, Kirchhofer, Evans need another year. Given his rapid rise (slowed by being in F1 this year ELO-wise?), it’s understandable that Verstappen is ‘swappable’ with the slower advancing de Vries.

Same for Rosenqvist with someone like Vergne; if he was in FR3.5 or GP2 for the last few years, his rating would probably be lower. Vandoorne is also stuck outside F1, hence domination of GP2, so much so that his rating is now above Button who, along with Alonso, is being dragged down by this year’s McLaren-Honda! 3 positions each? ;)
