Hi all, (and thanks Keith for getting this forum back up!)
Me and a mate are doing a bit of an epic road trip to get to Silverstone and I am putting together a playlist for the roadtrip. The only thing is, I can’t find much F1 related music…. any ideas? – Oh, and cheese is good!
(And before anyone suggests it, I already have “Fly, Schumi, Fly”… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Or57MukV_g

Simply the Best by Tina Turner
The Chain by Fleetwood Mac
Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet by Bachman Turner Overdrive (the remix was the old ITV-F1 theme music)
That song Nick Heidfeld is dancing to on the infamous YouTube video!
Also, the music off the old F1 Playstation games is quality, some epic 1990’s guitar solos:

(I remember burning up the tarmac on arcade mode on F1 97 listening to this!)
9th June 2010, 18:01 at 6:01 pm #134610Ads21ParticipantWell The Chain is an obvious one but its perhaps slightly overplayed, and if you’re nostalgic for the ITV days you cud use Moby, Lift Me Up. If you want cheese Melendi’s “El Nano” has all the cheese you could ever want. Florence and the Machine’s “You’ve got the Love” will always be associated with F1 for me thanks to the final BBC F1 montage of last season, Kings of Leon Sex on Fire for ITV 08 montage, and Amerie Gotta Work for the 07 montage.
If you want general driving songs you could go for some songs from the Gran Turismo games, The Cardigans Favourite Game and any Feeder songs and loads of other tracks on their playlists that would be worth having.
But if you want any more songs perhaps you should ask Nick Heidfeld for advice…

Check out the video btw, it has some awesome onboards.

10th June 2010, 5:30 at 5:30 am #134615Magnificent GeoffreyParticipantNed has just won a thousand million internet points for giving me a 30 minute, full-on, nostalgia trip. That game, and that music, was my childhood. I loved that all the tracks on the soundtrack were named after corners on the calendar. Can you imagine if they did it for the F1 2010 game? The soundtrack would be:
1) Copse
2) Turn 13
3) Turn 7
4) Rasscasse
5) Turn 8
6) Turn 1
7) Raffles
8) Turn 10
10th June 2010, 11:07 at 11:07 am #134616Dan ThornParticipantLOVED the music from F1 ’97 and especially ’95. Used to turn it off when I raced though. Have all of them on my iPod.
10th June 2010, 11:13 at 11:13 am #134617Steph90MemberAgree with Ads as whenever Florence and the Machine-You’ve got the love comes on in the pub or wherever I immediately think of F1 for the 2009 highlights.
She’s always a woman to me nown just makes me think of Ferrari!
10th June 2010, 12:01 at 12:01 pm #134618Ned FlandersParticipantOooh, a thousand million internet points… I win! Yeah the music is amazing, it makes me want to learn to play electric guitar, and then absolutely shred it!
Dan Thorn- can you download them from somewhere? I’d like it on my mp3 player too
10th June 2010, 12:09 at 12:09 pm #134619Dan ThornParticipantI’m not sure, I just popped the discs in my computed and ripped them like a normal cd. If you don’t have them I can send you them somehow if you like.
10th June 2010, 12:15 at 12:15 pm #134620Ned FlandersParticipantOh yeah that would be great! My email address is gregtoon@btinternet.com
10th June 2010, 12:21 at 12:21 pm #134621Tom L.ParticipantI’m going to jump on the bandwagon re. F1 ’95/’97 music!
Dan, how did you manage to rip the ’97 ones (and for that matter, the Steve Vai/Joe Satriani tracks on ’95)? I could only manage to get the ‘Overdrive’ tracks… if you have the others, do you think you could send them to me too please? – tomlow75@googlemail.com – thanks very much!

That did make me laugh, thanks Geoffrey!
10th June 2010, 15:18 at 3:18 pm #134622Dan ThornParticipantAh I thought ripping the songs from 97 would work, but you’re right, I’ve just tried it myself and it doesn’t. I’ve looked everywhere and the only place I can find the songs from ’97 is on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdFyM230aJw&feature=related There are some free programs out there that can extract the audio from Youtube videos and convert them to MP3’s, so if you’re desperate that may be the only way to get them!
I have the Steve Vai and Joe Satriani songs which I got seperately, so I’ll send them as well.
