Feeder series

With Formula 2 becoming Formula 3000 and then GP2, and a planned second revival of Formula 2 in 6 years I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on the feeder series. My feeling is that if they need a formula 2 maybe they can rename Gp2 to become formula 2, dispand formula 3 and rename Gp3 as formula 3. It seems to me that one manufacturer series being rated in the new superlicense system so highly, it would make more sense to rename, rather than create new racing series.
