Everybody looked so young and funny back then. Especially Button. xD

29th March 2013, 16:39 at 4:39 pm #230694Aish HeydrichParticipantLol, looks like it. Look at Button haha xD
29th March 2013, 17:11 at 5:11 pm #230695Magnificent GeoffreyParticipantAh yes. No refuelling. Proper tyres. No DRS or KERS. Traction control, launch control and automatic gearboxes. Michael Schumacher and Ferrari at the absolutely peak of their powers. So much better than F1 today.
…Oh, wait, no it isn’t.
29th March 2013, 22:22 at 10:22 pm #230696Andy92Participantas a relatively new F1 fan (started watching in 08) my only thought after watching most of this race is wow, were all races this boring?
29th March 2013, 22:44 at 10:44 pm #230697SlrParticipant@andy92 2004 wasn’t a great year for entertaining races, the only entertaining races I can remember were Monaco, Belgium, Italy and Brazil. I remember hearing Martin Brundle saying 2004 was the last boring season Formula One had.
30th March 2013, 7:56 at 7:56 am #230698Aish HeydrichParticipant@andy92 @slr That is because from 05-06 we ad new champions. Look I have been following F1 from Hakkinen days of 97-98, yes compared to today, cars were not so competitive, WDC were decided much ahead of the last race, and WCC even before that. But the machineries, the record setting fast laps, the mind numbing sound of V10’s, the pure exhilaration of F1 was there. Those days cars, engines, drivers were tested to their limits and the tyres complied. These days it’s the opposite.
Probably that’s the reason why F1 is not boring these days, they have a level playing field.P.s-All Current circuits hold all time lap records from laps set those years by Schumi, Montoya, Kimi etc.
30th March 2013, 12:19 at 12:19 pm #230699Ben FurtulaParticipantAre there any more full races on youtube?
30th March 2013, 18:18 at 6:18 pm #230700Aish HeydrichParticipantYes Iceman, there are quite few full races, you’ll have to look as FOM is very greedy when it comes to giving away free stuff. Check this out, old school F1 from 2001 days, I remember watching this live, hardly understood anything as I was small.
Brings back fond memories of Spa.31st March 2013, 21:17 at 9:17 pm #230701ShaneB457Participant@raikkonen25 Youku (China’s youtube I think) shows quite a few, most in chinese but also in english. Just type in “ITV F1 2008” into the search box and you can watch most of the races from the 2008 season, in decent quality aswell – http://www.soku.com/search_video/q_itv%20f1%202008
3rd April 2013, 8:21 at 8:21 am #230702Ben FurtulaParticipantThanks :) I’m really enjoying some of these races!
7th April 2013, 8:02 at 8:02 am #230703Aish HeydrichParticipantI have found a very nice channel in youtube that has some old races. They have found a genius way to get around FOM’s overlordship in the interwebs, by using the words FORMEL 1. It’s German, so… German commentary as well.
