Daniel Ricciardo has changed teams for the second time in three years. He is known to have spoken to McLaren when he left Red Bull for Renault in 2018, and has now slotted in alongside Lando Norris. It puts Mercedes power beneath his right foot, but he’s left a manufacturer behind for a customer operation. Has he made the right move, or has he left a more competitive car behind?

I think he has as McLaren have made all of the right decisions regarding management and team building over the last two seasons and are on an upward trajectory. As opposed to Renault a factory team who failed to deliver over several seasons and was beaten by their customer team (McLaren) despite the best efforts of their drivers.
Now with a new PU a winning attitude and strong team cohesion that looks to be on par with Mercedes.
The addition of a top driver like Ricciardo could well be the final piece of the puzzle to lift them that extra step to challenge for podiums.
