@abdurahman Yup, Belgian GP in 1988.

He replaced Nigel Mansell who was ill with chicken pox. Mansell was still ill at the Italian GP but Brundle couldn’t replace him there because of his commitments with Jaguar in the World Sportscar Championship, so Brundle was replaced by Jean-Louis Schlesser who famously crashed into his (Brundle’s) old F3 sparring partner Ayrton Senna. :)

ahh, yes, I forgot about that.

My pick would be Brundle at McLaren
    and
    Eddie Cheever at Benetton
    (i know, not that obscure)
I am quite fascinated with Cheever’s career actually. I wonder what would have happened with him in a top car. He was pretty close with Renault. I had forgotten he won Indy!

Glock at Jordan in 2004 comes to mind
Klien and Yamamoto for HRT in 2010
Chandhok for “team Lotus” a.k.a. Tony Fernandes racing team in 2011 (raced one time in Germany)
    Heidfeld for Sauber in 2010
Grosjean for Renault in 2009 (some folks think he debuted in 2012…)

Just some more modern expamples that wil probably fade into history.

that would be another interesting topic to start… actually Mansell also drove for the top 4 – Ferrari, Mclaren, Williams and Lotus

would be interesting to see how many more did that
