Lotus have announced a three-year deal with Microsoft which will see the US software giant’s branding appear on the E20s from this weekend.

I mentioned it on Twiiter earlier and it didn’t take long for the jokes to start flooding in:

“They should be good at restarts.”
    Trevor Hutchison

“I hope it doesn’t mean they’ll keep crashing for no apparent reason!”
    Darren Upton

“Lotus development should be good this season with automatic updates.”
    Andrew Sorrill

“Ohh no… Can’t wait for the ‘car couldn’t start correctly, run systems recovery’ at beginning of races”
    Anao

“So much for Lotus Notes then”
    Jeremy Ottevanger

    Keep ’em coming!

“Are you sure you want to release Kimi Raikkonen from pit bay? (Yes/No).”

Does this mean we have to wait till upgrade pack no 2 to see a stable Lotus platform?

Here’s hoping Kimi can Excel on his return to F1. I think he will have Windows of opportunity to do so, as long as he doesn’t keep crashing. If he does, I’ll feel sorry for the marshals who have to defragment the track, and Microsoft will have second thoughts about their decision to Paint their logos all over his car.

Does this mean they will be changing from Renault to Norton.
Also, it would have been better to go to Caterham, oh no, they already have a Caterham 7.
