Years where someone won more races than the WDC … so next is ……4th May 2019, 21:39 at 9:39 pm #393640
I think @paulgilb got this one so let’s start another. What comes next in this sequence:
?5th May 2019, 0:54 at 12:54 am #393644AlonsoParticipant
I’m not really sure, but my educated guess would be Schumacher 180.8th May 2019, 18:07 at 6:07 pm #393735
I think I’m working along the same lines as @Alonshow, but I reckon Schumacher: 1828th May 2019, 23:18 at 11:18 pm #3937409th May 2019, 8:13 at 8:13 am #393741Srdjan MandicParticipant
Tough one. I’m gonna say: number of races finished outside the points
Pierluigi Martini 529th May 2019, 8:55 at 8:55 am #393743
How about Fabi: 2?9th May 2019, 8:58 at 8:58 am #393744
…or Brambilla: 1?9th May 2019, 9:07 at 9:07 am #393745
Perhaps Villeneuve: 13?9th May 2019, 15:02 at 3:02 pm #393812KaIIeParticipant
I suppose it’s the number of starts from a brother/sibling pairing with the one with the fewer starts being listed, but I’m having difficulties finding the next one. Ralf Schumacher has way too many starts, and most other pairings (like Winkelhock or Rodriguez) have too few starts by the less experienced driver. Probably I’m missing someone obvious.9th May 2019, 16:47 at 4:47 pm #393821TomD11Participant
Stewart: 112th May 2019, 9:48 at 9:48 am #394070AlonsoParticipant
I’m trying really hard here. Whitehead: 1, Scheckter: 18, and Fittipaldi: 35 are the number of races started (not participated in) by F1 drivers who had an F1 driver brother who was more successful than them. There have been eight other F1 drivers in the same situation. Their number of race starts are:
Brambilla Ernesto 0
Winkelhock Joachim 0
Villeneuve Jacques 0
Stewart Jimmy 1
Rodríguez Ricardo 5
Rathmann Dick 5
Fabi Corrado 12
Schumacher Ralph 180
None of those numbers seems to fit the series in any way. The best I’ve got is that each of the three drivers in the series was born in a different continent, but that doesn’t seem very helpful. So I think I’m giving up.13th May 2019, 16:42 at 4:42 pm #394499TomD11Participant
@alonshow Yeah, that was my thinking too. I went with Stewart as I wondered if the sequence was that the more successful brother had an increasing number of championships to their name: Jackie Stewart being the only option with 3 WDCs.20th May 2019, 17:31 at 5:31 pm #395007
The sequences is the number of races started by both of these siblings together. Michael and Ralf Schumacher appeared together in 157 races.
OK so let’s start a new one. Complete this sequence:
Jose Froilan Gonzalez
