ParticipantOh no, there’s gonna be flashbacks? A huge factor in me not purchasing GRID was the flashbacks. Stupid, stupid feature.
What do you mean by flashbacks? Like the rewinding feature in Forza?

Participantyes Tommy but in the codemasters games they are limited depending on the difficulty setting – and you can’t rewind endlessly, its only about 5 seconds worth. Its basically so that if you try to overtake and mess up, or generally go off and crash you can rewind and try to survive. Its a better system than forza in my opinion because its limited!
from memory its 2-3 on the hard difficulty and maybe 1 or 0 on expert.
if you havent picked up grid yet you definitely should! oh and I will also be racing you on f1 2010, we never got round to it on forza!

Participantoh and obviously flashbacks are not available for online play. can’t understand why people have an issue with flashbacks – you can turn them off if you don’t want to use them…or not use them at all!

ParticipantI won’t be using them, except perhaps to get the trophy. If I mess up I just accept it and move on!

ParticipantJust thought I’d show you the link for some F1 2010 crashes. Better than previous games, but still not spot on (I saw a Renault T-bone a McLaren and the radiator didn’t burst and at around half way you can see a McLaren fly)

Well, in the interview Keith did with Steve and Paul they said that they can’t promote too much damage on the game, certainly not the likes of Kubica at Canada 2007. Not because they don’t want, but because restrictions were imposed on them. I guess that is why they had to make the sidepods so unrealistically strong.
I about the McLaren flying, that was a pretty good lol :D
But let’s remember that those crashes happened on purpose, probably just to compose the video, so it isn’t a surprise that the guys who were play provoked ridiculously catastrophic crashes, the likes of which would never happen in real life.
All in all, I think it is a good damage model… I just think that the wheels are a bit strong. Some massive shunts there only took the front wing off the cars…
