ParticipantDon’t forget you get your stake back, so expected return would be £1700.
Perez at 16/1… I’m kind of tempted to have a small wager in the real world.

It is a bit tempting that one, isn’t it?

ParticipantWhat stays my hand is a gut instinct that Perez will struggle to outscore Button across the season – unless Jenson has a ‘mare of a time with the tyres.
Hmm, perhaps JB at a fairly generous 7/1 is the way to go?

ParticipantWell, to be fair, JB is the one I’ve actually put a fiver on.

Participant100 pounds on Hulkenberg to outscore Gutierrez over the season. The odds are 1.22 (using the system that actually makes sense :)). So it’s 122 pounds return.
Playing the safe game, let’s see where it gets me. (I hope there’ll be @ mentions at the end of the season table so I don’t forget!)27th January 2013, 16:55 at 4:55 pm #220979Bendanarama

ParticipantI was thinking about this thread just the other day, and one thing I’ve been meaning to query was rule no. 3, which reads: As in real life, you can make bets as they become available, up until the start of qualifying. Post the odds you bet under at the time.
Now obviously you can’t have people ‘betting’ during the qualifying hour, but I quite often bet on race positions once qualifying has completed – admittedly not so much now as in the refuelling era, but you do still get the odd interesting opportunity pop up. So providing we post the odds at time of betting, can we not also allow post-quali gambling?
