10. ButtonI find it weird how low Hakkinen is on this list. Are we basing this on their results in the 21st century, or just including drivers that drove in the 21st century?

Participant@polishboy808 – It’s based purely on their performances in the 21st century. I think Hakkinen still gets credit for challenging Schumacher for the 2000 title, and taking a few wins in 2001, but that’s all he did this century.

ParticipantIt’s now a very tricky choice for me between the top three as I’m sure it is for everyone else with Hamilton and Raikkonen in any order just behind them. My personal list is below:
1: Schumacher
2: Vettel
3: Alonso
4: Hamilton
5: Raikkonen
6: Rosberg
7: Montoya
8: Webber
9: Coulthard

5. Kimi Raikkonen
6. Felipe Massa
7. Juan-Pablo Montoya
8. Nico Rosberg
9. Jenson Button
10. Rubens BarrichelloCompared with my 2012 rankings Rosberg is a new entry after his impressive year alongside Hamilton, whilst time to reflect on Alonso’s 2012 season has meant I’ve moved him to the top spot. Button has gone down, pushing JPM up, whilst Vettel’s season has moved him ahead of Raikkonen.

10. Rosberg*Hakkinen would be higher if we were including the 90’s.
This is my first time posting on this topic, but my list would have been almost identical last year, the only change being Hamilton jumping above Raikkonen because his move to Mercedes has taken him a step closer to becoming a great.3rd December 2013, 18:46 at 6:46 pm #246569Anonymous

16. Heidfeld – 3
17. Trulli – 1While the Top 5 are pretty much settled in terms of identity (order is a different question), the rest of the Top 10 can still change very easily. Rosberg and Webber may yet enter the Top 10 as well. :)
Still looking for more votes and opinions! I will quote the interesting ones when I do my wrapup. :)

they were always there, has quality, talent, ability, and so on. but didn’t reach the first category level6. Button
7. Montoya
8. Barrichello
9. Webber
10. Massa
challengers, consistent and dependable on points, but not quite manage the top performance.4th December 2013, 15:40 at 3:40 pm #246572Juan Pablo Heidfeld
ParticipantI can’t believe Montoya (good in 2001, 2005, very good 2002, 2004, excellent 2003) is behind Hakkinen (excellent 2000, good 2001) and Massa (ok/good 2001-2005, 2007, very good 2006, excellent 2008/2009 and poor 2010-2013).
But then again I’m a bit biased

10. WebberI rate Alonso so highly due to him (IMO) being better than Schuey for 2005, 2006 10-12. He was also brilliant through 2004.
Raikkonen was brilliant uptil 2007 but since he was beaten by massa in 08 and -09 and left F1 for 10 and 11, he’s behind Lewis4th December 2013, 16:40 at 4:40 pm #246574Aditya

hakkinen for me is more 90’s driver. it’s a bit weird to put his short period (00-01) and compare it with montoya or massa whom they’re fully 21st century driver. but if i’m forced to include him, that would be above button and below hamilton - AuthorPosts
