KeymasterAs we revealed earlier today a new team, Panthera Team Asia F1, is looking to join the grid in 2021.
If the grid does expand to 22 cars, that’ll create space for two new drivers. So, which two would you like to see in an all-new team, and which two drivers should get the chance to enter – or return to – F1?

ParticipantRomain Grosjean almost certainly if the owners are looking to be a HASS of Renault.
Then, perhaps someone like Giovinazzi or by then maybe even a Hulkenberg if he still wants in?By then Schuey will be with Alfa, and we’re already making space for Ocon to return.

ParticipantExcluding the drivers who are already driving in F1 at the moment, I would have Esteban Ocon in one car. For the second seat, I would prefer an experienced hand who is known to give good developmental feedback and has F1 driving experience in recent years. Alonso won’t be interested, so I would probably try to sign Felipe Massa – if he is available.

ParticipantIt all depends on what happens over the next few “silly seasons”, but they’ll clearly want an experienced driver. I’d imagine by then Valtteri Bottas will be searching for new employers, but he might come at a cost with his race-winning experience. Aside from that, a solid midfield runner might be up for taking a punt; perhaps Nico Hulkenberg or Sergio Perez. Then you’d guess there might be a reasonable driver with a bit of money behind them.
A line-up like (Nico Hulkenberg – Nicolas Latifi) or (Sergio Perez – Luca Ghiotto) or something along those lines looks competitive enough for an independent team’s first F1 season.
