ParticipantBasically I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread going so we could keep a list of which drivers plan on choosing which numbers they want for the forthcoming season.
If you hear any rumours, stick them in here. I’ll start off (also try to cite your sources, makes it more reliable):
Nico Rosberg: 6, 5, 9 (autosport)
Sergio Perez: 11 (autosport)
Jean-Eric Vergne: 25, 21, 27 (F1 Fanatic Tweet)12th December 2013, 22:57 at 10:57 pm #247154Bullfrog

ParticipantSorry to be pedantic, but the title should say ‘Who’s’ rather than ‘Whose’.

ParticipantPerez choosing 11 is hilarious, considering that is where he has finished most of the time.

@Meander Indeed – it was his championship finishing position last year.

ParticipantInteresting bias towards odd numbers so far.
Perhaps an even number has in recent times inferred secondary status within a team.

ParticipantKimi will go for 7.

ParticipantI think Massa would have got 19 anyway under the old system… Is his brother number 19 too? (dudumassa19)

ParticipantBottas mentioned 77 when driver numbers were first mentioned

Participant@tomccoll Yes, that’s an interesting tendency developing there. It could well be because of the nr. 1 driver “feeling”, plus the fact that maybe historical drivers sported an uneven number for that reason.
Or maybe there is the psychological factor of uneven being slightly unbalanced, sharper, edgier, faster?
But who knows, maybe things will even out in the end (no pun intended).13th December 2013, 11:52 at 11:52 am #247163Fer no.65
ParticipantI’m sure someone will get #46 tho, so that’ll break the odds.
Bo77as doesn’t look too bad, actually!

ParticipantVettel should get either 8 or 92, just to make his mission statement clear.

KeymasterHere’s Perez talking about why he wants 11:

Participant@meander – I think you are reading waaaaay too much into things there.

Participant@prisoner-monkeys Maybe. I’m not saying they are doing this on purpose. I’m just musing about what could be behind 90% of confirmed requested numbers being uneven. There’s always something behind anybody’s choosing behaviour, be it about numbers or the preferred colour of a car.
Anyway, as I said, in the end it might be back to 50/50, and it’s not important, just mildly interesting.
